Eifert and Kap got consussions today. Daniels and Slaughter might have gotten one two. Is there a new rule like the in NFL that says that they HAVE to stay put a certain amount of time? Hopefully they make full recoveries. Not for football, but for theIr well being.

I do not think there is a rule saying they have to sit out. It is a case by case basis and I hope they are not rushed back. Would rather a fully healthy KLM then risk further hurting him.

Eifert is the only one with a concussion. KAP has a calf strain, Slaughter has a shoulder and Daniels has an ankle.

I thought someone said calf for KAP, Daniels looked like a leg/knee, and slaughter's could have been...but someone mentioned shoulder!? NBC didn't really do a good job covering those

If the staff doesn't say, what should NBC do? Make it up?

NBC did a lousy job covering all of the injuries. They really pissed me off today.

Well typically it seems sideline reporters get a beat on this stuff, if anything they go up to the players and ask...you think Eifert would shoot down Alex?! haha I wouldn't!

So if the coaches said don't talk to anyone and refused to give any details to the press about injuries, then what?

then there is nothing to report-lol. That probably was the case, but they could have went down to Alex and she could have said she is having a hard time getting any information. Mayock kept asking and he wasn't getting answers either! Just seems like every game I watch college or pros...the sideline reporter always gets a beat from someone on what is going on with injuries...its not like she was reporting on anything else? I don't remember hearing from her after a certain point in the 2nd half, maybe i"m wrong.

I think most college programs have adopted the NFL policy for concussions. It's not as much a specific time period, as it is passing a cognitive test. Each NFL player is given a test that measures their cognitive functions. After a concussion, the test is administered again, and the player is held out until they score as well (or within some range) as they did without the concussion. Word is that Vince Young's results were such that doctors probably wouldn't even know if he had a concussion.

One thing I have strong feelings about is that there is no such thing as a "mild" or "slight" concussion. If a kid is concussed at all he shouldn't play.

Eh, sure there are. There are Sidney Crosby level concussions, and then there is just getting your bell rung where you pass your concussion test the next day and get cleared.

I hope DD is able to play next week, he is really starting to become a vital member of the offense.

Eifert may have been able to go back in, they were just playing it safe.

Hearing #NotreDame TE Tyler Eifert's concussion indeed "slight." But for caution with any hits to head these days, might've gone back in.

Yeah, his was a weird injury. It was non-contact injury and when you look, there was no weird or exaggerated ankle bending. His will be one to keep an eye on to see how severe it is. Again, him and Kap seem to be the only ones who may miss any time.
