I really do not know the reason there are dark green and light green ones. I just know you get them when someone likes what you post. Just try not to receive red ones, that means someone Neg repped you.
New reps are light (bright) and old ones dim. After you will the width of the rep column, 11 blocks if I counted right, they stay approximately haif dim and half bright (kinda like ACamp).
You can continue to get Reps but they don't show up in that box on the left with the rest of your info. You can see your individual reps, who sent them, and why in your USER CP. That's located in the blue banner above.
You can give reps by going to the left hand column next to this post and clicking on the second icon, it looks like a small set of scales. Click on I Approve, add a comment if you choose, then Click on Add to reputation. Try it.
Thank the moderators! They recently got bruised (but not broken) keeping it that way.

Send a Private Message, PM, to Mr. McGibblets and he'll fill you on that esoteric topic.
Click on Private Message in the upper right under your name. That will open your INBOX. Look in the left hand column, Your Control Panel, go to the 4th gold banner, titled Private Messages, Click on Send New Messages, and you'll get a message box.
Enter Mr. McGibblets name as recipient, add a title, like, "What's the story?", enter your message, and Click on SUBMIT MESSAGE.

I'm gonna throw in a question, or two, while everyone is feeling helpful. I've been here for a short while and I know that you can become a 'premium' member with a donation. What is the difference in the membership? and how much is the cost?

I'm surprised nobody's answered this yet.
I'm going to guess that with a premium membership, you get other threads/folders that aren't available to regular members. As for the cost, I'm going to guess again and say $12 a year.
