Hanratty supposedly came into the school in great shape. He was a big surprise.

Wow!!! What is most impressive to me at first glance is how Nix has dropped down to 326, (Good for him) and Tuitt getting to 295!

Wouldn't surprise me to see Tuitt play more than Lynch this season. He looks ready from a physical stand point; he just needs to learn the system now.

If his dedication in the film room is any indicator, I think we'll see Tuitt getting a lot of reps much sooner than expected.

Hardy and Daniels are the bean poles of the team. I was hoping they'd be closer to 200 by now.

At first glance, I thought this was a continuation of the office debate over the few fat guys vs. the many skinny guys.

The starting OL from left to right weighs in at 303-310-303-311-301.

That is not ****ing around.

Particularly Daniels. Was thinking Niklas was going to be a little bigger than an even deuce and a half. Nice seeing Grace and Rabassa at 240.

Niklas' first look will be at OLB, so the staff probably doesn't want him much heavier than that.

I believe it was discussed in other threads that they were going to try Niklas at LB. Might explain the 250.

EDIT: Damn you Whiskey don't type so fast!

Is the idea to keep Lynch at a lower weight than the other DE's because of his speed?

No clue. He's a prototypical 4-3 WDE, and the ideal weight for such players is typically ~275. Longo will probably try to make Aaron as heavy as possible without sacrificing speed; I wouldn't be surprised to see him at 285-290 eventually.

Keep him mind that he was only 245 during his recruitment. Putting on 20 lbs of muscle in 7-8 months is great progress.

Where is this media guide at?

I'm wondering if Cwynar's foot surgery caused significant weightloss, or if he got up to 300 like he tweeted his goal was around springtime.

Who knows exactly what his body can handle weight-wise without sacrificing speed. After all he's 6'6 and still a kid. When it's all said and done, I wouldn't mind seeing him in the 270-280 range. I mean ALL our DE's don't have to weigh 3 bills, right?

UND.com. Go to the football section and it should be in a column over to the right.

I'm pleased to see that Floyd lost weight. Hopefully he's quicker and more explosive.

That's debatable. I'm of the opinion that playing as a 3-4 DE requires more strength and weight than 4-3 WDE, so Aaron will probably have to bulk up a bit if he's going to see reps in our 3-4 looks.

I agree, but he shouldn't be in too much of a rush to get to 300. That should happen gradually over the next 3-4 years. If he is going to be used mainly in pass rush situations earlier in his career and become an every-down 3-4 End over time, then he can afford to put that weight on gradually. I get a little nervous about guys putting on an extreme amount of weight in a short period of time.

George Atkinson at 200 and Cam McDaniels at 192 puts them both at a good weight to contribute as running backs, if needed.

I agree. In fact, I don't want Lynch to trade any speed for extra weight, so if he maximizes his ability as a QB-seeking missile at 270-275, then so be it. They've got to at least see if he can handle more weight eventually though; if he can still be a pass-rushing monster at 280-290, look out...

I thought Lynch said the other day that he had hit 280?

Or am I delusional?

Might have been 270.
