On ISD's post-game show (on their Youtube channel), Mike Frank was intimating the same things. Though he seemed much more optimistic about Foskey and Patterson returning.

I think it’s a coin flip that Foskey returns and I think there is about a 20% chance Patterson returns. Patterson coming back would be massive.

The spicier rumor is that Kyren Williams made some emotional, off-the-cuff comments in the locker room after senior day where he implied he was coming back for another year. Personally, I hope cooler heads prevail and that he goes pro. Possibly my favorite ND player ever but I think he needs to go get himself paid.

Regardless — Kelly has built one hell of a culture at ND these past few years.

Yeah Kyren needs to go to the NFL. He's not the biggest guy and and his love of contact will make him susceptible to injury. He's not going to a bell cow in the NFL anyway unlike ND so the risk seems too great to me.

Agree with everything you said ha. Without much knowledge and just going off of gut, maybe I’d put Foskey at 60/40 go/stay,

Hmm, I'd rather have Foskey. I feel like with how much young (and growing) talent we have on OL, we'll be fine without Patterson but would obviously take him.

Kyren should go. Kyle should play in playoff game(s) then go pro.

What's interesting is that Foskey will probably have the highest grade out of the three but may have most to gain by coming back for another year. The 2022 DE class is stacked and could have a few top ten picks - Thibodeaux, Hutchinson, Karlaftis. Ojabo, Drake Jackson and that kid from FSU could also be taken in the 1st round.

I'm not sure Patterson and Kyren can raise their stock much by coming back. Kyren's numbers could be outrageous next year if the line works out the way it should but I'm not sure that matters much for the NFL. Maybe he thinks he can make a run at the Heisman and the team has a shot to win a title. I could definitely see him being a finalist for the Heisman if he comes back another year, which may be worth it to him.

Kyren with TB12 at QB next year would have a legit shot at the Heisman. If they can talk Patterson to come back, you're looking at a line that is going to be a lot better when we add Blake back in. And with a much harder schedule, and no KH to clean up the back end of the defense, we need to score in bunches. So I'll selfishly go on record and say I hope he skips the draft.

The weird ones are Austin and Lenzy. Doesn't seem like either is just loving their time at ND to the fullest, but neither are ready for NFL IMO.

Austin got absolutely sauced versus Gardner, and needs to improve getting off the LOS or he'll never stick in NFL.

Foskey and Patterson would be massive pieces to next year.

Foskey, with a stronger defense around him will be that much harder to contain. Seriously, we lose Myron, Hinish and most likely Jayson. Howard Cross, Jacob Lacey, Rylie Mills, Bothelo, Justin A., Keanaaina, Ehrensbergerr, Rubio and that doesn't include the less heralded guys that could make a move: K. Kia, Schweitzer, Onye, Osafa-Mensah and the incoming freshmen.

That is a hell of a group to continue disrupting. Then we get Marist back and we have to complement him with a Mike/Will combo out of a group with tons of potential. Bring Bauer back as a potential Mike candidate and see where Kollie is after a full offseason in the program.

Same with this OL, tons of upside and lots of experience after a tumultuous season that produced 11-1.

I know next year's schedule gets a lot harder but if we have a few freshman contributors to augment what we have in place, this team could really go far. QB will be the lynchpin.

Key word being emotional, right? IMO after some days have passed and he's talked to a few folks, he may have a different outlook. If he would decide to stay, it could have a negative impact on our RB depth as one or two may decide they don't want to wait another year to see the spotlight.

Uncle Speca bomb… the staff is saying it’s Freeman.

I think he’s full of shit now. No way a 2024 recruit would be informed already…

Assaf is doing a Twitter live now with Pat Pelini and Greg Mailey. Lots of blue checkmarks from ND recent past in on this.

Kelly's statement did say he would have more information for the team at the meeting tomorrow. Maybe they are already announcing Freeman to the players. I don't actually have any conviction in that theory, I'm just throwing it out there.

Bryan Driskell said that a dark horse coach flew in to talk to Jack today... Anyone know who it was? He even said it was a rumor and wouldn't drop a name... But I'm just curious.

Just spent 10 minutes on a flight tracker at midnight on a Wednesday like a true psychopath. Looks like there was supposed to be an arrival in South Bend from a PJ out of St Augustine today....Urban?

Incredible I have a girlfriend.

Lamar Jackson exploring whether he has any eligibility left. Wants to play for Marcus Freeman.

John Harbaugh for special teams coach. Urban Meyer for WR coach.

I like Harbaugh more for QB coach. Could really play up that Lamar Jackson relationship in recruiting. And Meyer would obviously have to have the recruiting coordinator title.

Watt was arranging for our OL to meet at Hiestand's house for supplemental coaching recently. They apparently felt like Quinn's coaching wasn't sufficient.

Dragged this from another thread. I get that Watt shouldn't have done that but this just strikes me as completely nuts. Was this a situation where Watt was just being a loyal idiot and thought HH could help or was Quinn's coaching so bad he thought this was his best option? Anyone have more on this? I guess the possiblity of Quinn being this bad without Kelly realizing it and/or addressing it is just too hard to believe.

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when this became known by Quinn and the rest of the staff.
