Prayers for everyone affected by these killer storms. Seeing the schools destroyed is really getting to me.

This is the worst part. Seeing that decimated school was so heart breaking. Prayers to the families affected and the towns demolished from these intense storms.

Just terrible news. On CNN they said there are still 24 children missing at the school.

I've been glued to this all evening. Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone out there. There are some great people in that area that need all the prayers they can get.

Been waiting for someone to start a thread so I can post on this. Been bothering me all afternoon and evening. Just got an empty pit in my stomach because of what has happened to those families.

My prayers to everyone affect in the OKC area.

Everyone knows I'm pretty political.

Just want to say that we can't afford an bureaucratic partisan Washington B.S. The government needs to send every available resource and get help to those families and communities that have been devastated by these tornados right away!

Once again God bless those that have affected.

My niece was killed in Moore two years back... So far as we can tell the house it happened at may have been lost...

Crazy feelings...

Couldn't imagine my kids being caught in this... Prayers and thoughts definitely tonight.

This... One of the few times government intervention is a good thing...

Prayers for Oklahoma and anyone affected in anyway by the tornados. Terrible.

I was never a huge fan of Matt Kemp but after seeing his actions the last month i am sure that will be changing.

his tweet: "I'm giving $1000 for tonight's HR and every HR until the All-Star break for the victims of my hometown on OKC"

I do know that he could afford more then that but at least he is doing something good.

Someone's prayers have some good mojo, it seems that there was an error in tallying the victim list's throughout everything, and that the fatalities were double counted. Instead of nearly fifty the death count is at twenty-four.

I feel terrible for all the victims and their families, but at least this is a significant improvement!

My prayers are with you ACamp. I remember the first time around. I am sure that this just tears it all up. Our love and wishes for your families' peace.

Yes it is good to see the numbers go down. They say with the bad radio and cell service is leading to the double count. Still sad to see 24 dead.

Thank Jesus that the numbers were double counted.

Also, Durant just donated $1M to the Red Cross for tornado relief efforts. Good for him. Hopefully there are more to follow (looking at you Money Mayweather and Tiger).

I've lived in Oklahoma the last 6 years and 10 of the 12 years. I used to live in Moore, OK right where the tornado went through (19th street about 1/2 mile from one of the elementary school that was hit). I was there from 2001-2005. 2003 was a pretty big scare as a F-4 came through Moore. Of course May 3rd 1999 was always the one I heard about during my time there. In 2003 some of the same homes were destroyed that the 99' wiped out (replacement homes of course). That place in aptly named "Tornado Alley." It is crazy how tornado's follow such a close path time and time again in that area. Here is a graph of the 99' tornado which had the strongest winds ever recorded (301 mph) and the 13' one which was also an F-5 or EF-5 (201 mph).
