Official 2011 Prediction Thread

I don't recall if I am stealing anyone's thunder my doing this, if so, I apologize and will promptly delete the thread.

Include predicted record, schedule outcome, scores and bowl game guess.

I am not sure how to do it, but it'd be cool if we could set up a vbuck pool and every week the winner who finishes closet with the above categories win's. Also, have a huge jackpot at the end of the season for whom ever wins. We could figure out a confidence point system for each game.

I'll go with 11-2.

My gf is yelling at me to go to dinner lol, so ill post my picks tomorrow.

Agreed. Kelly in his second year at Cincinnati went 11-1, it seems that people are forgetting that.

Actually Kelly's team's Offensive and Defensive production both were worse in his second year.

In '07 UC outscored opponents by 228 points or 17.5 ppg
In '08 UC outscored opponents by 80 ppg, or 6.2 ppg
In '09 UC outscored opponents by 202 ppg, or 15.5 ppg

They got waxed 52-26 by OU, 40-16 by Ucon, and lost by 14 to VT in the Orange Bowl.

Kelly started out better at UC (recrodwise) but considering Southeast Missouri St (twice), Eastern Kentucky, Miami OH (thrice), Marshall, and the Big East diet of teams, 8-5 in '10 at ND was comparable to UC's 10-3 seasons. IF ND has a healthy, stable, starting QB they could run the table but UC's record isn't a reason why.

I predict that nobody will remember anybody's predictions [much to the predictors' relief] except for a few folks who randomly got something right [since they will remind us]. As the country saying goes: "Even a blind pig can find the hole in the fence".

Having said that I hereby don my porcine blindfold and say 10-2 regular season plus a bowl win, but a tough time-of-it. As to the losses, two of MSU, USC [ugg], USNA, MD, Stanford. Most likely: MSU because we're not quite rolling yet, or USNA because their coach has been saving all their tricks for us like he did this year and we're coming off busting up USC.

On second thought: 13-0 and green kool-aid for everyone.

I always approach a season with the expectation/prediction of an undefeated season and a national championship. Adjustments are made along the way. Maybe it's the result of some of those "curious" mushrooms I ate back in the day.

Perhaps I'm in the minority here, but I'd be really happy with a 9-4 season. Obviously, anything better than that would be a plus. It takes some time to build a national power.
