Didn’t see you post this right above me. Yats is one of my new favorite joints in The Fort. They just opened a yats in Ft Wayne. The one in SB closed?
Yeah and way before covid. It was in Eddie st. Commons and it bombed. They also had one in Valpo which I went to way more bc it was just a few blocks from courthouse but it bombed, even after they brought in cheap priced upscale beer on tap. Some of the other franchises around indy lived and died. The one on 86th I still go to is good and I think Broad Ripple is still open but heard a rumor maybe Mass Ave closed , maybe Irish#1 knows. Anyways long story short I like yats. They just opened a yats in Ft Wayne. The one in SB closed?
Funny Yats story. And bring a yats back. It only lasted about 18 months there
Ex wifes ruin everything? LOL got it. Joe was always a cool guy. They catered a ton of shit when I was in law school and he was always personable.Funny Yats story.
Used to go to the original one in Broad Ripple, then the second one off Mass Ave downtown Indy (before they moved it further down Mass Ave).
Had a gift certificate and the owner explained it was to his wife’s Yats, not his, but he would accept it.
Told us that his wife and him divorced & she got half the rights to the business. He wanted to keep it one local place, but she wanted to franchise it & open multiple, that’s why there were 2 (back then). Then shortly later one opened on the north side & one opened in Greenwood on the south side.
So now they are all over.
One wanted to keep it local & a nice place, the other wanted franchises & the money grab.
And they don’t make the food fresh at all of them. They make it at one & drive it over to the others & heat it all day. That’s why they run out of food & take it off the board. Because they can’t cook a new batch on the spot.
Did you go to IU law school downtown?Ex wifes ruin everything? LOL got it. Joe was always a cool guy. They catered a ton of shit when I was in law school and he was always personable.
I did 03-06Did you go to IU law school downtown?
I was at the med school downtown 05-09.
Then taught at Wishard & the Public Health school off the canal for a couple years while I worked downtown.
Used to grab beers with buddies at the law school. One of my buddies, who is my lawyer too, is a partner at a law firm downtown right next to the courthouse.
I definitely wasn't as impressed with ft Wayne's as broad ripples or 86th street. Do they still have one in Carmel?Yeah and way before covid. It was in Eddie st. Commons and it bombed. The Maque Choux-Jambalaya combo was tremendous hangover foodAnd bring a yats back. It only lasted about 18 months there
The carmel I dont Know. Broad ripple was always the best. The 86th used to be a competitor shrimp a go go that they took over. That place actually had slightly better EtoufeeI definitely wasn't as impressed with ft Wayne's as broad ripples or 86th street. Do they still have one in Carmel?

FIFY, needs a little more onion, though.

Had a couple of them skyline cheese Coneys at the Reds game last night. You people are sick.
Reds games is where i got hookedTotally agree. The people that refuse to try Skyline, and won’t admit how wonderful it is, are truly vile people.
I grew up on the west side of Cincinnati. Post-game Skyline after little league altered my DNA.Reds games is where i got hooked

Now I take my kids to our preferred NKY location on Friday nights after baseball (or Saturday afternoons now that it’s football season).
Three cheese coneys and a Pepsi… that soft, warm, steamed bun. The hot dog, providing the foundation. The hot Skyline chili, seasoned just right and prepared just short of “burn your mouth” temperature. The extremely cold shredded cheddar on top, setting off against the warm steamed bun and hot Skyline chili sauce.
Take a massive bite and let all the layers compliment each other. Follow it up with a nice long swig of a perfectly mixed, ice cold fountain Pepsi… man that’s the good stuff.
Not sure about Mass Ave , but the one on 31 South and Stop 11 is still there. Isn’t there one on 96th east of I69?Yeah and way before covid. It was in Eddie st. Commons and it bombed. The one on 31 has their food brought into them each morning. It’s cooked at night at the main Yats and drove over in the morning. Not sure about Mass Ave , but the one on 31 South and Stop 11 is still there. Isn’t there one on 96th east of I69?
Id guess 86th st is the same as they almost never have jambalaya there by the time im getting late lunch/early dinner. Whatever you wanna call eating a big meal at 4:00The one on 31 has their food brought into them each morning. It’s cooked at night at the main Yats and drove over in the morning.
That’s why it all just sits in those big pots & when they run out they erase it off the chalk board, because they don’t cook it there.
You need to leaveGold Star…

Mooresville home of the less good squealersDamn it Lion. I’m still craving those coneys this morning. Lol
BTW, if you’re wanting some excellent Cajun, there’s a place in Mooresville that is worth trying and not a far drive.
