I don't want to hijack (if that's possible at this point) a thread with my thoughts on MDMA. However, if you have a question, and it would help somehow shed some light on what it's all about for some people I'd be happy to answer it the best I can.
I made the OG comment lightheartedly, but perhaps a relatively experienced voice on the matter is relevant to the thread. Maybe not.

The biggest question I have is how is it made. I know it is synthetic, but how is it cut? I would imagine the safety of the drug would depend on that, but this is coming from a guy that has obviously never used it.

MDMA is about as synthetic as you can get. It's basically methamphetamine for all intents and purposes, (the speed is not 'taken out' as has been referenced in this thread.)
Molly is generally considered MDMA in powder form, as opposed to Sassafras or 'sass' which is powdered MDA, and pressed pills.
As far as safety is concerned, pressed pills are the sketchiest as they can contain pretty much anything from strong opiates (read oxy's or heroin) or dextramatorphine (the psychoactive agent in cough syrup.
All , again in contrast to many posts in the thread, can be pretty damn dangerous. It can kill from overdose but is not terribly addictive like speed.
I feel like I'm starting to ramble, and I don't want to get too clinical.

You guys have really never heard of Molly? Molly is just the active component of Ecstasy, it's just that the term Ecstasy has become notorious for having other chemicals/drugs mixed in. It's called Molly to distinguish it from MDMA cut with other drugs.
For those of you who don't understand the effects of Ecstasy, it causes your brain to release Serotonin and Dopamine, which causes you to feel love and well being. Adverse effects from non-abusive use is apparently limited.

Thank you. That was exactly my intent. The precise meaning of quagmire is soft, watery ground - a bog is a quagmire. Who would better understand the predicament of soft, mushy ground than a bogtrotter.

People have started using the term Molly (short for molecule) to refer to TFMPP/BZP. Drug dealers typically failed chemistry and for their business: Marketing > Chemistry.
I doubt he would get multiple chances selling anything referred to as "Molly". Maybe he was building up to this. Maybe this is a stupid rumor. Maybe...
It's a non-naturally occurring chemical compound, so to exist it has to be synthesized. It is in the same family as phenethylamine and amphetamine classes of drugs, but to say it's basically the same is not correct. Brain chemistry maaaan, brain chemistry.
Molly is just a word people have begun using to describe MDMA (the desired active ingredient in Ecstasy) in an uncut crystalline (popular) and/or uncolored powdered (not as much, due to resemblance to crushed pressed pills) form. People have been cutting MDMA with all kinds of crazy **** for years. So much so the term and phenomenon of "Molly" is largely a social response. The scary thing is young people thinking it's safe because it doesn't have all the misc. **** people have been cutting Ecstasy with.
