Interesting stat I read on 24/7. ND had 16 plays inside NCS 25. In 51 mph winds and HORRENDOUS rain, they ran designed pass plays 13 times. Kizer was sacked 3 times, and went 1 for 9 passing on those downs. Unreasonable play calling. I don't know what to say. I just don't know what to say boys....

As I said a few times, the only thing bigger than this hurricane is Kelly's ego.

Game should have been played tomorrow or Monday. Field was a joke.

Yea, I'm not using it as an accuse, but they shouldn't have played that game. That was a joke of a football game and didn't resemble anything close to how a normal game would have been played.

I would've liked to have seen a few handoffs to CJ on her sweeps and fakes up the guy to Adams then had off to CJ around the edge. Kizer was 5-26 with 1int and 1 fumble

I honestly think trying to use CJ's speed wouldn't have accomplished much today. The weather negated any speed advantage we may have had. Under BK we've never played well in wet conditions on grass when we had speed to work with. This was a day we needed the big guys to slog it in the mud and to pound the ball, but we tried to air it out instead.

I'm Sooooo frustrated....
1st and goal from the 6 and we passed the ball every play...... IN A FREAKIN HURRICANE?
We get lucky with a second turnover in the second half and have the ball on the 25 yard line. Guess what? We go 4 and out on 4 passes. Did I mention the hurricane?

Mike Valenti foresaw all of this 10 years ago, I understand the rant now. Mike, I'm sorry for every doubting you....I get it...I get it....

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN THE SHOTGUN IN A MONSOON?!

YOU’RE ASKING DREW STANTON TO RUN THE OPTION IN HURRICANE KATRINA. You’re coming out FIVE WIDE. RUN THE FOOTBALL!

We should have never asked a freshman WR to make that play. That's part of the mismanagement of the game. Ball control is clearly extremely difficult in this weather. Let's make a freshman WR run a route, make a cut, and then catch that same ball in that same weather. Just like we should not have asked Kizer to throw that many times.

I hear that. But why don't we blame the players for not making plays?

Weisher getting abused when NC State was not going for a punt block.

Stepherson's drop.

Kizer holding onto the ball and inaccuracy.

The defense still throwing shoulders and not tackling.

Mustipher with multiple bad snaps.

When the coach doesn't put the players / team in a position to succeed it's hard for them to do so. Today they weren't put in a position to win by the coach so it's understandable when mistakes were made. A game plan of putting the entire game in the QB's shoulders in a hurricane. Expecting a freshman WR to be the one to keep the drive going. The D can't tackle because the coaching likely has went away from the basics.

I'll give you Stepherson and Kizer and the defensive lack of tackling.

But Weisher and Sam should be held accountable. Saying that Harrell should have started at center in the second half, but maybe the coaches have no trust in him.

This loss may have saved the program from three more years of mediocrity. Glass half full.

Where were you, tough guy? Didn't see you tailgating out here. What's you're lame excuse for not being out here in the rain, big mouth?

I was referencing Mike's rant because he was complaining about MSU being in 5 wide trying to throw the ball in similar weather conditions. We did similar things today, we should have run the ball more, but I guess I question how effective it would have been given how up and down our run game has been this year.

Brother, I do 2-4 games a year since '93. I've seen my share of rainy games. No hurricanes yet, but that Michigan game was pretty wet. I didn't bother wearing a poncho because ponchos are for pussies. Also, I'm in Ohio, kinda tough to make the trip to North Carolina on a Saturday with 3 kids.

I will be at the Stanford game this weekend though, I'll be tailgating in the Stadium lot in front of Legends with family. If you get to South Bend you can come have a beer with me. The same goes for anyone else on the board, as long as you hit me up on here ahead of time.

Beautiful day here, not a cloud in the sky. Just like the forecast said it would be on Thursday. Same forecast that had the worst of the storm hitting from noon to 7pm Saturday, just like it did.

Irresponsible to put fans out in flash flood conditions and take police away from more important duties than directing stadium traffic. That said, weather was the same for both teams and they knew all week this was what they would be playing in. Miserable fan experience that is really disrespectful to their supporters who set season ticket records. Not just avoidable but easily so. ACC should be embarrassed

Almost perfect football weather today. It's a shame we had to watch what we did yesterday when today would've offered a completely different and much better experience.

Sorry for my remarks. Just frustrated that I sat through a monsoon for that debacle. I won't be at Stanford but will be at the Virginia Tech game.

NC State field was a disaster, especially comparing to UNC field. Drainage problem at NC State.

Did they ever explain why they didn't move the game time to Saturday night or Sunday? It made no sense at all to play when they did. Unsafe for players, miserable for fans. Destroyed the integrity of the game itself. No reason for it.

$$$$$$$ <--------------- bet on it. Money was the reason. Somehow, somewhere.....someone was going to lose a significant amount of money if the game got moved.

I suppose. But how? ABC could have put it on TV Sunday just as easily. They don't have NFL to worry about. NC State would have made more money on concessions and parking if there;d been more than 20,000 very wet people at the game. ND would've been out an extra night's hotel room. But whatever.

ABC may not have had NFL games that would have kept them from televising a postponed ND/NC State game, but they would have been competing against those NFL games. And they would have had to rebate the difference in the value of the advertising spots already sold, from a Saturday afternoon college football game, to a college football game competing against NFL games on a Sunday. NC State may have prepaid the extra security from local, county, and state Law Enforcement Agencies, and might have had to pay again for those personnel to work on a Sunday. And it might have been double time instead of time and a half. There's any number of factors.

I agree with all you wrote. But, South Carolina vs UGA has no issue moving the game to today.

This is all money. The acc and if either school had a say in this should be hung out to dry. The gave no regard for player and staff safety. They gave no regard to the police depts that could have been using those officers to evacuate or any other public safety storm related issues. Not included the fact of any fans, stadium workers, espn workers, college campus employees,or refs. It is flat out bs.

I am not sure if college games are like high school games that have to have an ambulance there onsite. They probably use a private service because if it was a city ambulance and i was the operating officer they wouldn't have an ems unit there.
