This is perfect timing imo. Allows the game to finish up early and not conflict with Halloween night for families with small children, and it allows the team to get back to campus as early as possible before the Miami game.

Yep. Not that the experience of actual attendees is a major concern when it comes to scheduling, but this is a prime "take the kids" game for Notre Dame's sizeable New England fan base, and starting any later would conflict pretty hard with Halloweening. Especially since it can take two hours to get out of the damn parking lots at Gillette.
