Kelly also said senior kicker Justin Yoon has had some time to recover thanks to the bye week, as he was experiencing some discomfort.

“We’d like to make sure that he’s 100 percent healthy. He had a bit of a soreness in his groin, more like a soccer player would. But we feel like he’s going to be fine,” Kelly said. “We just wanted to be careful with him in this off week, make sure he’s 100 percent.”

They can still be taught to kinda sorta chop block illegally because they know they’ll get away with it because there’s so much going on each play. I’m not saying they try to intentionally hurt players, if they do try to stretch the rulebook.

I wouldn’t say they’re dirty. It’s just the style of blocking that lends itself to higher risks for lower body injuries. I don’t believe they intentionally try to hurt anyone. But given player safety issues maybe the service academies should move more toward traditional offensive schemes. Yes it would mean their ability to win games decreases but most don’t expect them to be overly competitive anyway.

Tough spot for the folks down there I guess. Might as well keep it I guess, they need some stadium there for SDSU. Maintenance costs might be less than building a newer smaller venue for SDSU/potentially MLS.

This Navy team does not seem to be anywhere near as physical as past teams. They are usually quicker also. Their new policy regarding NFL caliber players is probably not helping.

It's how they're coached to play. We all knew something like this would happen. Just because the OL didnt intend to do it, doesn't mean it wasnt a product of how they're taught to play.
