Computer rankings for USC:

DokterEntropy: 16 (Have been best this year)
Sargarin: 13
Teamrankings.com: 12
Massey: 12
FPI: 9

As mentioned in the other thread, the algos think we are the number 2-4 team in the country rn.

We probably aren’t going to get enough credit for this win as we should. Need SC to go 9-3 at worst. Only other really challenging game for them should be at Oregon, but Nebraska could be tricky too.

Stable, ranked, otherwise successful Notre Dame teams just don't lose to SC in South Bend, ever. Doing so is a sign that there is serious rot in the foundations. The closest comparison from the last fifty years to a loss next Saturday would be 2005, which team had a first year HC and was up against a #1 ranked USC who ended up having to cheat to get it done. All the other home losses are from teams in various states of coaching upheaval/rebuilding/etc. Makai Lemon is basically Freddy Krueger out there and Maiava will inevitably do some circus shit but I just don't see this ND team losing.

So the other RB Jackson was legitimately listed as OUT on the official injury report and then played once the injuries to the first two happened. How is that allowed?

USC disrespected Michigan’s passing attack so much that their LB Gentry led them in nickel snaps.

I don't think it's a rule like it is in the NFL.

Just a straight Busch League move by Dinkin Riley

Kinda the opposite IMO. The Notre Dame fans I know who hate USC more than Michigan are mostly from the west coast. Everyone else knows Michigan people, and reacts accordingly.

I think that’s what I said. If you live near Michigan you hate them more. If you live in SoCal you hate USC more. Which rivalry is bigger? USC ND not even close. Probably 20 books written about it. Ara vs McKay?!

One is a respected rivalry the other is a blood feud.

I get it. The proximity to each other of two private school blue bloods with one being jealous can lead to that. Both play physical style ball and fight for regional recruits.

USC injuries to track:

- LT Paige
- C O’Conner
- RB1 Jordan
- RB2 Sanders
- CB Graham - first appearance with 8 snaps against Michigan. Expected starter at Nickel

Other guys that have missed time seem healthy. Ramsey and others that missed Illinois was food poisoning.

I wonder if Gray shadows Lemon. Recalling that post-A&M Gray repped in the slot.

Not me suggesting that will suffice but I don’t see Moore leaving the threat that is Lane. I don’t see Golden 1-1 against Lemon. So….
