In all seriousness what the hell do you guys expect? I mean I get it, Winston is a bad person, that's probably pretty certain now, but you can't dismiss a Heisman trophy winner for almost being caught doing something bad.

He was accused of rape. The police did a shitty job investigating it. Ok. That really sucks for the girl and for justice and its totally unacceptable. (I'll also add that it really sucks for Winston if he was innocent, because now it will be forever impossible to cleanly state that you were found innocent of the charges.) But are you going to kick the kid off your team for that? Nope. No way. In fact, there is pretty substantial evidence that ND would've done a hell of a lot more to protect Winston in such a situation.

Ok so next he stole some soda from a BK after he ordered water.... I'm pretty sure I did that last Tuesday. Next.

Next he played with BB guns and caused property damage. He was required to pay for the damage. This is the point where Winston starts to officially look like a dumbass. But he's still just a dumbass. There are a lot of dumbasses on teams across the country.

Next are stealing crab legs. Ok, now we have a crime. But the issue is that this is a misdemeanor. He was caught, he was punished, and he got a ton of national shit for it. He probably would've missed a game but it luckily happened in the offseason. This is one way that ND might have handled things differently, but maybe not. Plenty of ND players have been charged with more serious stuff and not missed any significant playing time.

Next he stood on campus and screamed a sexual sentence. FSU then suspended him for a game. Not because what he did was illegal, not because he broke any rules, but because FSU wanted to send him a message that they were tired of him being a dumbass. I thought the fact that they did this for Clemson weekend took a lot of nuts and I was very surprised at how proactive they were about it.

Now there are autographs out there. But none of them at this point can be traced back to him. And trust me, I get it. There are a LOT of autographs, and there is virtually 0 doubt in my mind that he wasn't paid handsomely for each one. But here's the issue. You can't prove it. And something tells me that if something similar happened with Everett next year, this board would be singing a very different tune. From the "he didn't, he's clean" crowd to the "I'm suddenly concerned with player's rights!" crowd.

So we have a total: 1 petty theft, 0 "real" crimes charged, 1 potential NCAA violation (lol), 3 counts of doing stupid college shit, 1 Heisman, 1 National Championship, and 19-0. And you guys are saying that the fact that he hasn't been kicked out of FSU is shameful? Guys, lets be honest, he wouldn't be kicked out of any major college football program in the country. The only thing shameful about FSU's actions is how bad their PR department is that they couldn't head any of this stuff off.

Sounds like GreyH is JW's lawyer. lol

I mean I wouldn't mind.... $

But seriously I just think it's ridiculous how many people are saying that its "a disgrace" that Winston is still playing. No. No it's not. Or to put it a better way, if it IS disgraceful than 100% of major college football institutions are on some level disgraceful. (I'd have trouble arguing that one.)

I can agree and feel the depth of your account. I just can't get past the newest of these stories as told by Police, Florida State hampered Jameis Winston investigation, documents show | FOX Sports and http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/12/u...sts-shadow-over-tallahassee-justice.html?_r=1 Way too much going on.. But as said by one of the greats. “At times the world may seem an unfriendly and sinister place, but believe that there is much more good in it than bad. All you have to do is look hard enough. and what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events may in fact be the first steps of a journey.”

I have no problem with Winston playing. I do think he is a horrible person.

I would like to add that the bb gun incident is much, much more than what the NYTimes or Fox Sports reported. It wasn't a one time thing and it has happened as recently as the beginning of the football season. I have a friend from HS who is a student at FSU who was shot with a bb gun at a gas station in a drive by. She also had her scooter stolen last year where the theif was never caught, but scooter was returned by cops...

That's on the police departments head though. Maybe Winston benefited from their lazy/corrupt incompetence, but unfortunately the truth will never be known. That really sucks. Seriously I can't put into words how angry that makes me. But I can't turn around and blame that on Winston, because there has been no serious evidence brought forward that the allegation has any merit. I'm not about to kick a kid off his scholarship because the local police department sucks a big fat ****.

I have very little doubt in my mind that he's a piece of shit person. The only reason I have any doubt at all is that he's officially under the ESPN 24/7 WINSTON WATCH. That's really hard on any kid. Can you imagine if Tebow had done anything, ANYTHING, wrong in his last two years of college? Oh my god they would've killed him. Thank god that guy was a Saint.

It is the total package. It is not any individual thing he did (minus the rape of course, which should have at a minimum should have kicked off the investigation by the school and at least put him on notice). The screaming of profanity was not what drew his suspension. It was his tone deafness following the rape saha ... that coupled with the ray rise stuff and the NFL. And once you call attention to yourself as a troublemaker you simply can not be stupid enougj to steel seafood at the local market. Ues he is a dumbass but fsu has to decide what they want their reputation to br moving forward. Gurly got suspended immediately at georgia. FSU is coming across as a school with zero integrity and all they have to do to fix it is at least giving the appearance od doing what everyome thins they should do ... suspend Winston.

Just to put in perspective how good FSU's offense is here's a neat little stat.

In the last 22 games FSU has scored 96 touchdowns MORE than their opponents.

In the last 22 games Notre Dame has scored 74 touchdowns PERIOD.

Holy sh*t.

Just to put in perspective how skewed this statistic is...those 22 games include the likes of:

Idaho
The Citadel
Bethune Cookman
Wake Forest twice
Nevada

None of those teams could stay within 20 of the worst team on our schedule this year...OK maybe they could within Michigan

Last year FSU definitely had some impressive wins and performances...this year they have struggled with OK State and NC State and should have lost by 20 to Clemson if Clemson didnt give the game away, albeit without JW playing.

Gurley got suspended immediately at Georgia because there is reportedly a video of him at the signing. UGA can't risk their entire season when that kind of evidence is out there. If the amount of evidence against Winston (a lot of signatures) was the only thing out there for Gurley, he'd be playing I guarantee it.

People are forgetting one thing, a 1-loss TCU has a pretty good shot of making it in too. In that specific scenario they would end up in the season with 1 loss to the number 4 team by 3 points and be the Big 12 Conference champ. For some reason that seems like it is enough to beat a 1-loss ND team for the playoff spot

Well, FSU (who is getting around to their Title IX investigation 2 years after the incident, are now saying Winston may not even be subject to a hearing until after the season, and were accused by the Tallahassee PD of interfering in their criminal investigation) hasn't even taken the basic step of calling the authentication service to learn of the origin of the memorabilia.

I get what you're saying: that if these are the sole facts to be had that it may not warrant suspension. Given FSU's wagon circling and keystone kops routine I sincerely doubt they're after any facts and even Manziel was suspended with "no evidence" of payment.

Actually Manziel got suspended without proof of taking money, it is because signing for dealers is against the NCAA rules even if you don't get paid, so you don't have to have the Gurley level of evidence to get suspended. Winston should get some level of punishment even if it is just one half (even if it is a game other than ND).

The NCAA and A&M agreed on the one-half suspension because Manziel violated NCAA bylaw 12.5.2.1, an NCAA representative confirmed. The rule says student-athletes cannot permit their names or likenesses to be used for commercial purposes, including to advertise, recommend or promote sales of commercial products, or accept payment for the use of their names or likenesses.

This. It is about the optics for FSU. Georgia is perceived to have taken swift action. Grey is right without slam dunk evidence Gurly may well be playing still. But most are not taking such a nuanced view. Ga did something and FSU seems eager to do nothing. Makes FSU appear to have no integrity and the will live with the fallout moving forward.

There was a picture of Manziel signing in a hotel room. They pretty much had him caught red-handed, just no definite proof of cash. I'm fairly positive the 1/2 game suspension was a "we know you did you this, just be happy this is the only punishment."

People explaining away bad behavior instead of calling it what it is. As much of a shame and disgrace as what Winston himself is doing. I pray this young man will be humbled for his best interest.

Since FSU is dragging its feet and Winston is still playing, I take this to mean that they are taking ND very seriously and might even be scared......

I don't think the established facts that Jameis Winston is a sociopathic moron, or that FSU has the moral authority of Nazi Germany are irrelevant.

Some people see shit-stew and ask, "What is for dinner?" Others see it and dump it over and gladly go hungry. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so is the joy of a life of right action. Instead of putting the work in to keep things right, too many are interested in making short cuts, seeing therapists, or just plain being miserable.

I say dump the shit-stew!
