I don't know what most of that means but I disagree that our run defense is our weak spot. I think it's just because of who we've played. I'm much more worried about what USC could do to our secondary.

I think it is safe to say that USC's offense is going to be a challenge for ND's defense. Kelly will undoubtedly come out swinging on offense, and try to get up a couple of scores early and force USC to become more one-dimensional on offense. Hopefully, he mixes in some new wrinkles early on to keep USC's defense on it's heels. I'd like to see some more throws to Prosise out of the backfield; not middle screens and not the shovel pass to the outside, but some actually halfback flat passes and some wheel routes. Make USC pay for selling out to put pressure on the QB (which I anticipate they will). Maybe this will be the week that Kelly makes the TEs a priority in the passing game.

I would much rather we just line up and run Prosise and Adams right down USC's throat. But I'm not sure that is very realistic....

I'm honestly not sure what to expect, defensively, from the Irish tonight. USC appears to be a better passing team than running team, but their passing game seems to almost totally revolve around Juju Smith-Schuster. So maybe ND can control the leak there, and make a few critical stops.

I would be super nice to the players. 'Welcome to Notre Dame', 'hope it's a good game' and all that. Just a sort of disarming friendliness and confidence. It'd mess with their heads a lot more than anger or insults would. Gotta deflate that us against the world mentality.
