This is nuts. People are reporting that both sides are winning and that it is being upheld and shut down. Thoughts?
f*ck the u.s. government
This is the beginning of the government being able to make you live their way. All they have to do is label the penalty a "tax" and according to the piece of crap justices the government gets to run your life.
They already force car insurance...
Not the same thing, they are forcing you to buy liability insurance. An apples to apples comparison is if they now started to make you purchase collision and comprehensive as well. I probably shouldn't have mentioned that, the government is probably going to try to legislate that next.
Well, if anyone on this board has pre-existing conditions theyll sure as hell be glad.
I dont think people remember the 90's at all. "OBAMACARE" was a republican proposal during Clinton's presidency as an alternative to Bill's "Universal Healthcare." The Heritage Foundation came up with the individual mandate as well as other items in the bill and they are as conservative as it gets.
Yes, people with pre-exisiting conditions will be happy about it passing, as will insurance companies who get several more million clients. Although a lot of this will not take place until 2014 anyway.

Yuo see thats where I find you wrong. The insurance compagnies were rejecting people alot, for pre existing because the costs wouldnt add up in their calculation, and still wont. I think insurance compagnies lose more than they gain.

This is exactly why our insurance rates will be going up. The costs will be passed on to everyone else. The only way that it isn't passed on, would be if the government stepped in and said we won't allow that (which wouldn't surprise me). If that happens, more insurance companies close their doors, less competition, prices go up even more, till finally the government steps in and says we will do it ourselves. Of course we know that anything the government does, is efficient and void of fraud and abuse. So smile everyone, this is a happy day.
I could care less who started it...republicans and democrats are all a*sholes.
It's hard to imagine how a normal American citizen knows more about constitutionality than our own Supreme Court.Very sad day for our country.
Millions more Americans will have health insurance. I'd say for them this is indeed a happy day.
But for those who already buy their own insurance rightfully with their own money and will now have to pay for those who don't this is not a great day.
That was before my time in politics. Do you have any links or anything to back this statement up? I want to make sure your statement like"operation fast and furious" being a bush program. Either way I don't care who came up with it who passes it or who had a hand in it. I believe it is wrong.
