Right. And considering ND needs to jump 9 spots just to be eligible for the BCS, a prime time slot is just what the doctor ordered. They need a dominating performance in prime time that would probably get a few more votes than it would be if it happened at a noon slot. Gotta stay fresh and relevant in the voter's minds. Heck, I think ASU cashed in big time in voter perception from playing in that Thursday night game last week. It was the only game going and all eyes were on it. ND just needs to show up and blow up Saturday night and the BCS hopes are still alive.

I didn't say anything about everyone watching, but it will certainly get more views than playing in any other time slot. I'm well aware of the Bama/LSU game, although that one has the potential of a blowout for Bama.

Yep. We have made two very average QBs (Blake Bell and Devin Gardener) look great.

And one very good QB (Taylor Kelly) look average at best.

I really can't wait for the presser tomorrow because I am dying to hear how Kelly intends to handle the all the injuries in the front 7. If Nix and Day can't go, some of our deepest backups like Utupo, Stockton and even Rabasa will have to step it up in practice this week and make sure they are ready to go. I wonder if Kelly will do anything crazy, like move Niklas back to D for this week or activate Hounshell.

Obviously Pit is shaky in general, but the match up I foresee as a possible issue is the Pit D vs our O. Their D has been increasingly better at limiting points on the board, If Tommy isnt smart with the ball the likely hood of a replay of last year is a safe bet imo. 2 turnovers might be enough to push this too close for comfort if the Pitts offense doesnt hand us the game first.

I'm pretty confident we cover the opening spread of 3.5 points. Pitt's O is the kind of O that I think we would destroy if we were healthy. As is, I still don't see them really moving the ball consistently because they're simply bad at rushing and inefficient in passing. Maybe they'll hit a couple big plays to Boyd and Street, but it's hard to imagine them having lots of effective sustained drives.

In their last 5 games... against a pretty weak gauntlet of Old Dominion, Virginia, Navy, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech... they averaged only roughly 270 yards and 18 points a game. Even with all of the injuries, we should be better than all of those teams on D save maybe Virginia Tech. Can the offense score north of 21+ points? I'd be pretty shocked if the answer was no. They've been really dialed in with much more effective play calling from the bye week onward.

Bold prediction: 1.5 sacks for Tyler Stockton, 4 TDs + 70% completions for Tommy Rees.
