Here's Clemson's out. lol. "He was showing symptoms on Monday, which means he's good by Thursday."

Wishful thinking. The ACC is not going to cancel an already scheduled game to replace it with another one for a better matchup. This situation has never happened before.

lol. come on man. we've never had this situation before....
this covid thing is kinda new.

Let's put our money where our mouths are. 1 week posting ban if the game is postponed and this situation happens?

I'll take the bet. I like to take a week off here and there anyway.

No reason to believe we won't play anyway. Assuming we'd have seen other positives.

And I gotta believe most ND fans and TV/ACC wouldn't want a loss to UNC to prohibit ND from playing Clemson altogether and/or ACCC

It is recorded! That way you can be back for ND/Clemson 2. :awesomewo

So honest question. You do realize if we lost on the road to UNC, in your scenario we'd likely not play Clemson at all, or have a chance at the ACCC

Yep. But my wishes and hopes as an ND fan aren't what's going to actually happen in this scenario.

The more I think about it, the ACC would probably do a wait and see post UNC game before shuffling anything. But then again, UNC@Miami at the end of the year too. So Miami could beat UNC, UNC could beat us, and end up with 3 1 loss teams. Then Miami gets screwed because we didn't play Clemson (they would go to the ACCC if that game happened)

Don't you have to practice at least one day prior to a game to be eligible to play? Maybe that's high school, I dunno.

I hope Lawrence gets to play us. Game just won't feel the same.

A close loss to Clemson without Lawrence and ND will be mocked by the national media. Or having to watch Lawrence play and throw for 350 yards and rush for 100 yards 9 days removed from COVID-19 diagnosis would earn him the Heisman and be another gut punch

Perhaps I wasn’t clear, but I was indicating a win on Nov 7 and then a possible close loss in the ACC championship game. That’s what I meant. Ideally we don’t have to see them twice

If this game were to get canceled, I can't see them dropping the ND/WF game at the end of the season. I get the ratings potential, but it sends a bad message to every school. "We're going to cancel your game in favor of another because you suck". Even with this being the season of COVID, it sets a bad precedent.

Of course if this has already been discussed amongst the schools before they started, play, then there's no issue.

I hope Lawrence gets to play. We need to know where we stand.

Hope game is played with both teams at full strength. That will tell you where you stand.

This situation is already shit, regardless of the outcome.

1. He doesn't play, ND wins, the jury is still out and doubt is cast on ND the rest of the way.

2. He doesn't play, ND loses, ND is ridiculed and DJ U. is pumped as the messiah (or more accurately, the Cam Newton clone that he appears to be).

3. He plays on short rest, ND wins, the jury is still out on ND the rest of the way because he wasn't in game shape.

4. He plays on short rest, ND loses, he's touted as the GOAT with his 'MJ Sick Game' specifically at ND's expense until a potential rematch.

There are zero outcomes to this first matchup that won't have an asterisk of some sort, and that sucks for both teams... particularly if Lawrence doesn't play and ND still doesn't win.

We have to hope for a rematch of teams at full strength in the ACC 'chip.

I think the odds of this game getting suspended/canceled are pretty high.

EDIT: It just so happens that Wake has a bye on November 7th. I wonder if that game might get pushed up if Clemson is out.

I hope the game gets postponed and we only face them one time in the ACCCG. I like our chances of making it to the CFP if we only have to face Clemson once. Otherwise, Clemson gon' Clemson given enough chances...

why? can't cancel/reschedule a game because your star qb isn't playing....no others have tested positive besides him and he lives alone.....

I just assume that once a QB gets it contact tracing is likely to knock out the whole room or it's more likely to get passed along.

Wasn't Metz the tip of the Wisconsin iceberg?

I bet on this game when ND was a +12 dog, Now it looks like the odds are pulled.

For his health i hope not... Looking at Cam and how he is different post covid. Lawerence playing with no practice against this defense... not sure it ends well for his health

I'd like to play Clemson with their full arsenal. That said, I suspect their backup QB is a five star gunslinger and will bring the heat anyways.
