Tend to agree. This is the game that "doesn't matter" because we would still need to win ACC Championship to get in the playoffs. So, would've been good to get them at their best vs making excuses if we win... or people piling on if we lose.

On the other hand, ND will still be an underdog against an elite team and I want the win any way we can get it.

Yep. It just sets up for an ACC-C of two "undefeated" (with TL) teams if we win next week. Honestly though, I'd rather play them only once at full power lol..

Honestly though, not sure we win even if he doesn't play. Their #2 is actually a #1 from last year's recruiting class.

Just wish we could play Clemson with our best and their best and have it be a big gamd that means something. Conference championship games ruin the importance of these types of regular season games. Even sillier is to have a conference where you dont play everyone in the regular season.

It depends on when he developed symptoms. Isolation is for 10 days from the time symptoms started. Does Clemson do daily tests?

Is it crazy to think that I would rather have ND play against Lawrence, who they have been able to scout for years, versus an unknown 5 star?

As far as I’m concerned this is bad either way for Notre Dame, either way people will talk shit if he plays or not

From Swinney's press release, Today is when Lawrence said he could release the news. Potentially could have tested positive earlier this week, changing the timeline we're working with.

What if this is just the tip of the iceberg for Clemson? We may not get a Clemson game on Nov 7th

What is with all the Clemson Lawrence's testing positive to things?

Freaking sucks. Even if he plays and we somehow win, it'll be because he was recovering. Guarantee Sweeney will allude to it in his postgame if that happens.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Dabo Swinney: “Trevor (Lawrence) has authorized us this evening to announce that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now in isolation. He is doing well with mild symptoms but will not be available for this week’s game against Boston College.”</p>— Bruce Feldman (@BruceFeldmanCFB) <a href="https://twitter.com/BruceFeldmanCFB/status/1321982120051421184?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 30, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

So this is a bit cryptic. They’re announcing it tonight, but don’t say when the test was taken. If the test was taken Sunday-Tuesday he will be back for ND.

EDIT: More details —

Chances are he will play at ND.

Where there's one COVID there are always a few more. It will be interesting to see how this week plays out for Clemson

Good. I hope he plays after not practicing for ten days. He will be Trevor Lawrence still but not as amazing as he could be

IDK. Why risk losing to ND with him on the road. Lose without him, and nobody cares.

They lose to us without TL and win the rest they get us in the conference championship game with him.
And Ug whatever his name will have the BC game to get his feet wet.

I just looked at their stats. Helms, who is not even listed 1-3 on their depth chart, has looked better than DJU in garbage time. Also, looks like DJU was banged up the last couple weeks.

What's nuts though is that it seems like they're setting up a scenario for him to be a conquering hero with a "Heisman" moment. I can just see ESPN cameras filming him arriving at the South Bend airport early Saturday morning; the media buzz about whether he's going to play or not; his teammates getting fired up when he arrives after a week+ of isolation. Is that going to help them win the game? No, I'd much rather play Lawrence with a little rust. But there was already going to be a ton of juice for that game and now it's going to get turned up to 11.

Say they have several more positive tests and are unable to play next week. We already moved WF to our open date. Would this get cancelled, or could the ACC say they'd rather have ND/Clemson?
