This doesn't feel like a game we pull away in the 2nd half.

I suspect we are about to see how crucial Hamilton is and how much he fixes. If Clark Lea can come up with something here it will be impressive.

I feel confident. 30 minutes to go, we get the ball first. This team knows how to win. Mentally and physically tough.

Good to see Ian's happy feet are back. On at least 3 occasions he caused unnecessary pressure by moving the pocket, or trying to.

I think us hitting their QB so many times in the first half will pay off.

Hopefully.

We are the number 2 team in the country! I’m not ready to give up on this team that just beat the (at the time) number 1 team in the country a few weeks ago. Let’s see what happens in the second half. I’m concerned with a Kyle out, but I think we get it done.

I’m not a huge BK apologist, but give him a break with not prepared stuff. We played pretty well against BC in that trap game. NC isn’t as good as us, but they’re pretty good. These are college kids and some will lose focus from time to time. Now they can see it takes focus to win against teams like NC and hopefully get their heads on straight.

It’ll be a bit up and down, but I think Book gets it done for us. Between Lea and Book, I like our odds

Only complaint for Book is he has too much time to be throwing it away at such a high rate. This defense isnt good enough to cover everyone.

Penalties keeping us in this game. Glad it's tied, don't feel like we can keep it up. Hope I'm wrong.

The offense has been more disappointing IMO

Yes this was one of my concerns. Most pundits spent the past month or so telling everyone that UNC’s defense is trash...which they were. But even a team struggling this bad on D can rise up and play over their head when you factor in who the opponent is #2 ranked Notre Dame.

Yet they’re exhibiting great coverage on our receivers and are preventing the OL from imposing their will.

To be fair, he's missing two lineman. Maybe he lost some trust in the right side.

Better than an injury

Depends. Assuming it’s an injury that would just need a few weeks rest, I would take that b/c ND needs Hamilton to win this game. Anything worse than that & I agree with you.

Lea better make his best halftime adjustments ever b/c UNC is about to target our, now glaring; weak spot...the secondary.

Fair enough but that wasn’t a concern coming into this game. The narrative was “UNC defense is pretty bad so ND shouldn’t struggle winning the trenches”. Underestimate an opponent that can actually beat you is always dangerous. (Not saying ND coaches were but media has dismissed Carolina D all year b/c they’ve been trash)

Some positives. Marist S’s best half of football yet. The DL is getting pressure.

Also he’s not out any of the next game, as he would’ve missed the first half had it happened after halftime. A small silver lining, although we need him more today than next week

Exactly. Next week even Houston Griffith should perform well. We are going to miss Hamilton in the 2nd half. Hope for the best.
