You again, Mr. Mod? SMH...

Yes. You didn't know he was ejected and you were glad he was hurt or so you thought. Stand there and be wrong and realize you post without thought or understanding.

Fire VanGorder and maybe Harry before it's too late. We have arguably the best Wide Receivers in the COUTNRY, and they are all returning next year if I'm not mistaken. Shake things up, Kelly - before it's too late. And the defense is another story. This is a college team, run a standard college defense, no need to get fancy. With a complex defense it takes time to learn, a year or two and to be quite frank we don't have much time. Is it me or does it seem like we have no outside containment? I specifically watch the ends and they crash inside the tackle almost every play. Everyone just runs outside the tackles on ND. Even Weis's defenses would hold better than the current one.

So we should fire the D coordinator we JUST hired to get a different one and put in a NEW system for next year which will totally make our players better, since, you know, they won't have to learn A WHOLE NEW SYSTEM!!!! Dude is playing how many freshmen and sophomores??? The injuries don't help either.

The O-line has actually gotten better as the season has gone by, but they are not great I give you that, but Harry is a boss at recruiting.

The worst is that we've lost to a bunch of teams I don't have strong feelings about. It's going to suck to see f**king USC beat us next week.

That's a good point. I don't give 2 shits about UL or NW, so the L's will kind
of fade away.

Gettin smoked by SC, as I expect them to do, will suck hard, hard, hard.

Just commit to the run already.

And teach tackling. Shades of a Weis defense today. Collinsworth tackling with his head down.

He lead the team in tackles if I'm not mistaken. Kid is a freaking freshman. He arguably would be 3rd on the depth chart if we had Jarrett Grace and Joe Schmidt healthy. Stop with the "put the backup in he's better" nonsense.

It's kind of hard not to lead the team in tackles at middle linebacker...

They are the #2 run defense in the country and Folston rushed for over 100 yards on them. What more did you want?

Worst tackling in the nation

Worst redzone offense in the nation

Worst redzone playcalling in the nation

Worst regression of any team in the nation

yes

yes

and yes.

But all can be cleaned up by next year.

Can EG get taller to throw the ball down the middle of the field? No. But he is dynamic, those turnovers this year he'll learn from, I hope.

I'm not ready to fire BVG or Hiestand. Go ask Weis & Muschamp how smart it is changing coordinators every year. He does need to dumb the defense down w/ all the inexperienced & young players starting.

What's the deal w/ the injuries? Do we chalk it up to "It happens to every team"...which it does or have we had more than what a typical team can expect? If it's the latter, the question is why? What's most frustrating, is that ND players' injuries seem to be career ending or they never regain their previous form. Let's hope Day, Schmidt, Jarron Jones, etc can bounce back b/c we haven't been as fortunate w/ Springmann, Carrico, Grace, Councell, Hounshell, etc.

Commit to the run. Not stop what is working. Run on the edges.

Kelly has yet to commit. Bryant is waiting for carries. Unleash him. We should have been running 2:1 today and against Northwestern.

I hope so too. On the other gameday thread I was on, people were wanting Golson replaced today. I take it w/ a grain of salt during the game b/c frustrations are running high. But, he's so gunshy now that it's taken away his athleticism IMO. He still made some nice escapes today but he also seemed to freeze & stay in the pocket too long taking the sack. I realize it's not all on him, but today is the first time I've questioned his ability to "learn" from the turnovers. Louisville's TRUE FRESHMAN QB looked a lot more composed IMO.

Then why stop at whatever Folstens total was? Your post insinuates than this total was all we could muster.

I believe that 100+ was on 17 carries. Why not more carries?

I don't think we should fully commit to a run based scheme but we should be able to ride what's working whatever it is and we should have pounded the rock last week and tonight. 18 carries was far to little especially with how the pass offense was working.

Yeah, no shit...he is the backup. But the other backup might be more game ready, although Nyles is the five star.

Those tackles he led the team in, where were they at? Down the field...

Hate to lay blame on individuals ......but,
when was the last time CC tackled anybody?

As I said last week, we look small compared to everybody, I guess having all those freshmen playing points out how undermanned we are?

To make the change to MZ as holder this late in the season is a bit much to ask of the lad.

Every game we have lost we could've/should've won. This all can be coached and remedied....for next year.

Plus we control clock, save the defense (assuming we move the sticks), and get Bryant into the mix.

They weren't the #2 run defense in the country today. We were running all over them. We should have kept it on the ground and used Bryant as well.

Reps brother couldn't of said it better myself!

There's a reason coaches mix it up, and it's not to intentionally fuck themselves.

Or put the ball in the end zone would work too...

We'd then be like, Kyle Brindza, don't know him...

Ineffective on 3rd down and inefficient in the Redzone won't get you to the end zone. Again.... Brindza should not have been needed to tie a game up at home against Louisville. This game was lost well before the end of the 4 th quarter.

If he's not producing, get him out quick before we're stuck with a bad defense for the next 3 year. Standard defense is not hard to coach or adapt too, and it works. But You're right, the injuries have plagued this team and skewed his scheme. For Harry, I don't know about his recruiting... sure Watt, Martin and a few more but I'd rather a have a consistently solid offensive line rather than a occasionally dominant line. Even with Watt, Martin and Cave I felt like the Line wasn't "elite." Close though.

You are saying what I said...score the damn ball.

If not, Brindza will have to miss, again.
