It’s unbelievable what some of these coaches and people in the media are saying about ND over the last week from Ari Waserman, the Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire, Narduzzi, and countless other jackasses. Makes me grateful that ND has a coach who handles himself with class and dignity. Very refreshing to have a leader and phenomenal ambassador leading ND these days.

Heintschel has only completed 9 deep balls all year. He’s thrown 4 INTs while doing so. The one close to average defense they have played in FSU he threw it short to RBs on half his attempts. He is near the top in short passes in the country, Maiavia near the bottom.

Would be surprised if airing it out deep ala USC is the game plan.
He wasn’t throwing behind LOS to his RBs all game, he pushed the ball downfield to them.

I don’t think he’s taking deep shots all game, usc didn’t either, but I expect they try to exploit gray in the mid game on a lot of slants and crossers where it’s more difficult to have safety help when in man.

I also expect they get their RBs out in routes a lot.

I didn’t say behind the LOS, I said short. Out of 11 targets, 2 were downfield. 1 was a scramble drill, not planned. 1 was a wheel route for a TD. So 1/11 targets was a planned downfield target. USC targeted their RBs downfield once on 42 passes.

I guess I’m just not seeing the USC comp either in personnel or scheme.

Wait you think Gray is exploitable? Tell me more...

I have watched Pitt vs Stanford and Syracuse today. If Pitt has two WR’s as good as Lane and Lemon they must’ve been taking a break those games
And if you watched lane in almost any game other than ND this year you’d think average starting power 4 wr, that he is.

Pitt doesn’t have anyone as good as lemon, I stated that. But they have weapons in the passing game especially if Reid is back as he’s a tough match for lbs.

Nd can get after Pitt no doubt, like they did vs usc, but Pitt has players to try and attack nd like usc did, as I expect they will try. Gray must be significantly better, and our pass rush while not losing contain will be key as he hits a lot of plays out of the pocket.

I don’t know that their scheme is the same game in and game out, I just think they’re the type of team that will employ a scheme to take advantage of nds main weakness on D. I think they have people to significantly challenge gray. A guy like hicks could put gray in bad situations.

Hope I’m wrong or hope grays balls out

So Pitt’s passing attack really had nothing to do with USC and was just a shoehorn into talking about Christian Gray. Gotcha.

Field corner is NDs biggest weakness (after fg kicking) as an entire team. Teams with multiple good WRs and an oline good enough to give their qb some time to make field throws can attack nd. Pitts oline may be good enough to do that and I think they have enough WRs and speed where nd will have gray and maybe Zackery in situations they can get exploited, unlike nc state and bc where their oline didn’t hold up.

I’m expecting you’ll see a lot of plays similar to what A&M and usc ran. A&M doesn’t throw deep passes hardly ever but they did a ton vs ND especially gray.

So yes, the scheme will be similar. Scheme can be game specific.

Where did he say this? I listened to his whole press conference, and this was not in it.
I feel like most of what I've seen posted on here from twitter in the past few weeks has been nothing but bullshit. It wouldn't surprise me that this would be too.

Which if you're out there making up quotes for...twitter rep? I really just have no idea what the hell you're doing with yourself.

It was from a few years ago I’m pretty positive. May have even been one of those “anonymous” Athletic articles with coaches.

Id really like to talk about how the Eagles are a goofy ass team who only has positive plays when they cheat and the refs dont care

No ref calls them for not setting before the snap...

Fuck Pennsylvania (Except their sandwiches which are S tier)

Lane has been underwhelming this year, but we know how good he is when he's on his game. And it's really good.

That's how you know Notre Dame is really back. People bitched and whined back in the day when we were kicking ass. Enjoy it.

He's not analytical enough to think big picture. He's a meathead and is going to want to win this game like it's the Super Bowl.

That's just my hunch and I could be very wrong, but he's another one of these guys that has a hardon for ND.
He stated in his presser today. ND Is everyone super bowl he Is downplaying the hype. This Is a playoff game for us and we've been playing them the last few weeks. ND by 10

And let's be serious here

I went to 5 different Indiana schools through 7th to 10th grade, and I got kicked out of all of them

I hated... HATED... Indiana as a kid when I lived there for longer than I'd lived anywhere else.

But ND people loved me and I loved them

We can't get in a pissing match about which state is better

We just have ND

Italian Beef > Philly Cheesesteak

Fight me.

You know the place, name the time.
I don't do that Cheez Whiz shit though, I usually get it with grilled onions, mushrooms, peppers, provolone or swiss, mayo, mustard. Penn Station is pretty damn good for a chain Cheesesteak, better than any Italian Beef I've had.
