My educated guess is Usually after day light savings, the kick offs are at 2:30. With all the senior day festivities at the beginning its pushing back the start time to 3.

didn't realize that....thanks

ND is on EST. I don't know how it would change. Am I missing something. It's currently 140pm in Indy and its 140pm in South Bend also.

That is BA.
I, on the other hand, hate it. Like it really pissed me off. I posted on his comments like this in the Pitt thread. Following the game asked about Kizer and he immediately makes a comments about his 'supporting cast.' Comes across, to me, like he's not giving Kizer enough, or any, credit.
Starting out with 'if we continue to support him' seems dismissive to me.

Kelly is making it about the team, which is the right thing to do. He said, soon after, that Kizer is playing championship football.

I get that, but when asked about Fuller or Prosise or anyone else he doesn't approach it that way. Maybe it's just me, but he only seems to approach it that way woth Kizer.

I'm also sure Kelly just knows how to talk. He knows how to play "head games" and wants to keep his players in check - no matter who he talks about. He knows he has a young inexperienced QB so he doesn't want to put everything on his shoulders - "We can go as far as Kizer can take us." He doesn't want to come off like that.

I'm sure everything Kelly says is well calculated.

Perhaps you're right. I'll give Kelly the benefice of the doubt here though. I don't think he meant to sound like that. The interview kinda just unfolded that way. If anything, I think he's trying to take some of the pressure off of Kizer's back. My guess is that when being the quarterback of Notre Dame you can feel like you have to do everything yourself all the time. I think it's good for Kizer to feel like everyone around him should be accountable, good or bad...

Well there are some big and obvious differences between Kizer and Fuller/Prosise. Fuller and Prosise are older and more experienced players. Fuller is well established as a top 5 WR in all of college football.

Kizer on the other hand entered spring as a 3rd string RS Freshman. Kizer was thrust into action by a twist of fate. I don't think Kelly wants to come out and tell the world that it's all on Kizer and it's up to him to take us all the way. A) that's a lot of pressure on on a young kid and B) BK likes to say that Kizer plays "north of confident and south of cocky" so perhaps he feels that too much effusive praise would push him "north of cocky?"

As it is, I feel as though you're imagining things now as in way did I read BK's comments as a slight towards Kizer at all. He basically said the kid has the juice to take us to the promised land. That is extremely high praise. Kizer seems to have a great relationship with BK and Sanford which is a refreshing change from last year when EG and BK seemed to have a love/hate relationship.

So is there such a thing as an Irish Envy tailgate here? Might be nice to meet some of you slap-happy fools for a bit. We are getting there tomorrow night and I have every intention of taking my family to the Pep rally and then maybe legends (but it may be too full). At any rate, let me know if any of you knuckleheads will be around.

That is BA.

It is much more than bad ass, in my opinion.

Gentlemen, I cannot rep you enough!

Pa, once again you are a magician at providing a fantastic dataflow of pertinent, relevant, and timely data for and about the Irish!

And Koon, you really do have a way of lighting up like a pinball machine to what is important! You are our own data analysis relevance Geiger counter!

This series of tweets is unbelievably important to the future ongoing operation of ND football.

What you are seeing here is a man, (forget the coach part), who has taken a look at upping his game, and after careful analysis, over a prolonged period done a number of things, none of which was an 'easy fix,0' to improve the program.

The first set of quotes, PA provided, which I agree with Koon, are bad ass, show Kelly as a warm and caring coach committed to his players betterment.

[I think the part of the presser where Kelly talked about Fuller's return with a concerned face was a rehearsed bullet point. The kind a politician or public figure will use if given the opportunity. It was interesting because there seemed to be a few seconds where Kelly was concerned with taking his caution for the player's best interest too far. And then he lightened it up with his own patented facetious-ism! As if who would buy a coach turning down a returning All-American. Kelly ended up with demonstrated behavior that he put a players interest before his own. Right there on tape for all the right people to see!]

At any rate the first three quotes show his concern with his players, and such a subtle tooting of his own horn in recruiting and coaching, that it doesn't even register as self-promotion. You can't coach that!

Then the quotes move into the behind the scenes backstory about improvements to the mechanism that have improved the on-field results. And there it is, wait a minute, a call to join our successful program for all young studs!

A pitch wrapped in soft data, surrounded by care, concern, and love; all from a program massively investing in moving away from its polarizing past images.

This started, by the way, with Jack Swarbrick's mantra about how Notre Dame is good for college football.

There was a period a while back, (within the last ten years - before Bush signed the mandatory daylight act, or whatever it was called), that NW Indiana stayed with Chicago on Central time, and Evansville stayed on Eastern time, (I believe) and the biggest part of the middle of Indiana didn't change with daylight savings time. So during football season, ND would go to a 2:30 kick-off when it was following Central time.

My best guess is that you are remembering this.

Yep...never had to touch my clock...just had to remember whether we were on with Chicago or on with Michigan. The great part was all the shows would be on earlier. So primetime shifted from 8-11 to 7-10

If we all didn't know it already, this quote is a testament to the fact that, indeed, "YOU ARE THE MAN!"

You almost nailed it. Evansville was on Central time like the region. The rest of the state did not observe DST as you noted.

The post game thread does not belong to me, but since the subject came up after the Pitt game, last week: I'm going to the ND Club of NE New York game watch tomorrow for the Wake game. So you guys can either wait a few hours after the game for me to start a post game thread, or someone else can do it.

LET'S GO I-RISH!!
