Here are the immediate benefits for minting (buying) an NFT:

I forget which podcast had Assaf on but it sounded like IPC will have portal for players to sign up to perform tasks related to the offerings of IPC to NFT holders. ie. IPC needs 4 players for a jersey signing function and will pay $200 each. Could have this completely wrong though.

If players are getting 75% of the profits then it would be a max of $833,250 available to them (5,555 x $200 x 0.75). If it's only for football scholarship players then it's $9,802 per player. I guess that's ok? I do wonder if they will do specialized NFT's for each player like the "Dante Moore" collection for the star players so there is an extra incentive for them to participate.
I don't recall anything along the lines of what you outlined in the first paragraph, but I could be wrong. What I do know is there is a 7.5% royalty fee on any sale on the secondary market after minting that goes to the current and former football players. So each time an NFT is sold 7.5% of the sale goes into the football player pool. For example one of the NFTs sells on Opensea for $225 today 7.5% royalty fee of $16.875 goes in player fund...tomorrow that same NFT sells on Opensea for $300 7.5% royalty fee $22.50 is added to the football players fund.

Ah got it, might have been thinking about something else. Did they talk about the allocation between players? or payouts?

Allocation of funds is to be distributed evenly. So a walk-on get's the same amount as Jarret Patterson. Saying that the football players have to opt in...last I heard I think they had around 90 players opt in. As for payouts for the initial minting I believe it's a lump sum. So the guys will be getting somewhere between $8,000-$10,00 in a lump sum. Hope I understood your question correctly.

This is how I understood it too from the Assaf Twitter Space. There will be a lot of money up front for the initial purchases, but after that there will be fees when the NFTs change hands at a later date. I guess they're expecting these to increase in value and that will help drive future revenue?

Oh snap. The last one with the eyepatch and championship ring is dope! I WANT THAT ONE! What the serial number for that NFT? I want to check it out on OpenSea and maybe we can workout a deal?!

I’m interested in the total road map before I’m willing to give any up. Might bring myslelf and 3 others up to a game next year looking forward to the pre game tailgates. I’ve always wanted to meet up with some IE people on a game day. I dont believe I’ve ever met anyone from IE or players club of course, in person.

Crazy thing is I bought one for $200. Then couldn’t find it on open sea so then messaged in. Then found it along with 3 others. They asked if I wanted to keep the other 3 for a 50% discount so I agreed.

any idea how many of them sold? If they were to sell all 5,000 of them wouldn't Assaf pocket like $277,750 or so?

On OpenSea it states over 3.4k in the collection. The actual minted number is probably slightly higher, most likely because everyone has not attached their wallet to OpenSea yet I would assume. According to Assaf IPC will announce official number of minted later this week.

First there are a total of 5,555 not 5,000. And not all 5,555 will be sold. Keep in mind over 100 players received their NFTs at no charge. Additionally several NFTs were airdropped as part of Giveaways. And they will be holding back some NFTs for future airdrop giveaways.

Second Mick Assaf is technically not pocketing 25%, $277,750 to spend for his own leisure. That 25% revenue goes into paying his employees at Yoke; for example development team, I.T. server teams, product managers, project managers, the design artist, etc. As well as paying for other overhead expenses any normal company would have. And of course some of that 25% revenue will be reinvested for future Yoke and IPC projects.

This kind of stuff is how NIL was supposed to work, and honestly it destroys the ridiculous Mike Frank narrative that ND fans can or don't want to participate in NIL. Someone made some jpegs and raised $300k for the team overnight.

If ND admins were to get out of the way with the NIL-before-campus-is-illicit argument then ND would be extremely competitive in this era of recruiting.

This is cool but really hope ND can grow this. We all know it needs to be $300K/top recruit one day if we're evening the playing field. But this is a good proof of concept.

Asked this previously but are they going to need to do these NFT sales every year to get payment out to current players?
