Off topic question. Is it possible for fans to donate to FUND for NIL?
Great question and one I'd like to know the answer to as well. I would definitely contribute. If just 100,000 ND fans made 1 payment per year of $20 that would be $2 Million in NIL money for the program. If the new AD and Freeman are committed to going all-in on the best grad transfers in the portal and retaining players who would be best served to stay another year, I would imagine FUND would bring in a ton of money from fans. In a way, it would be like fans having a say in how good they want the next year's team to be.

He ranks as the 8th highest graded DT according to PFF.

Cross is sixth and Mills is 27th.

He's not a depth piece. The guy is starting caliber. He's not going somewhere to be a rotational player and play 200 snaps.
Agree but Mills played just over 500 snaps and Cross almost 600, that's with very low snap counts our first 2 and last 2 games due to competition. During the middle of the season run vs real teams Mills was averaging around 50 snaps per game and cross 55. Out of a potential 60-65. That is WAYY too many.

Mills, Cross, Rubio, Onye, (Portal Player) - We need the depth to be good enough where our starters on the interior dline are playing 60% not 80+%

" The University of Notre Dame may have to loosen up their transfer policy in order for the Irish to have 85 scholarship players on next year’s roster."

Yep. ND basketball needed players so admissions helped them get a kid who had been at Northwestern for 2 years into school. If basketball can do it then football should be able to bring in undergrad transfers.

Read that and holy shit does it scare me.

Feels like every year we here that Notre Dame admin is willing to make concessions to get transfers in and then it amounts to nothing.

I can't help but wonder to what extent this is a product of the time vs. a product of something negative about the program?

I realize it's a lot easier to transfer OUT of Notre Dame than to transfer IN.

We were at 80 scholarship players this year when the season started. At minimum, it should be 83-84 and that's if a player or two transfers over the summer.

So....we're expecting that many portal guys? or less 5th/6th years are being asked back and we need to be able to fill the coffers with transfers?

I thought we were sitting at something like 94 players on the roster? Can anyone help my slow brain this morning?

Posting another man's face near completion should be a bannable offence.
Looking at another man's vinegar strokes allows you to see into his soul.

Tobias is currently the number 2 overall player in the transfer portal according to 247 rankings. That is wild to me.
No way that can be. Soft hands Tobias over the likes of all these better players .... QB's Leonard Riley and Will Howard; WR Kris Mitchell and Eric McAlister just to name a few!?!

Wait
Beaux Collins, like Clemson Beaux Collins?

Does Dabo allow transfer outs? Did Beaux pray with Dabo about it first?
Dabo to Collins as hes clearing out his locker "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

That's a clown ass statement by Prister. So assuming no transfers coming in and we loose 22 guys to the draft/no eligibility/transfer/retire/etc that puts us at 85.

I hope they do loosen the transfer policy but we should be able to hit 85 without it. We will likely have to process kids out/medically retire some to get down to 85.

I really do feel like Prister is starting to lose his grip

I know Louisville does. I was at the game and they ran a promo on the big screen asking to donate while they were at the game. Pretty good marketing strategy IMO.

If he doesn't take a big jump forward whomever gets him is going to be in for a surprise.

Would you have wanted Caleb Williams after his game against us?

I understand why a casual review would leave some hesitant.

Last year, he was considered a borderline first rounder. This year, he started off really well and then had his ankle nearly snapped by Howard Cross. With his mobility completely taken away, their offense had to be changed midseason. They don't have nearly the supporting staff/OL to shift the plan so dramatically and his numbers dipped as a result.

He's not going to be a 73% completion percentage, making tons of tight window throws. (at least not yet).

He is 100% a very athletic QB who has a strong enough arm to make all the throws needed at the college level to be competitive and win 10+ games/playoff contention. If our staff can help him improve, even incrementally, and we surround him with weapons, then we should have a very potent offense.

Defensive coordinators hate trying to contain dual threat QBs who have tons of weapons. It's not an easy proposition, especially if they have a very good OL. That's what we have to hope for, a really strong OL, capable of moving the LOS and giving Leonard time to make the right reads.

The truest test will be when Leonard faces a defense that is formidable, that loads the box and challenges him to beat them over the top. Then it becomes much more about the WRs winning their matchups, the TEs blocking/getting separation and the RBs on blitz pickup/routes out of the backfield. None of us knows how that would play out but Leonard looks like a really high quality QB capable of elevating his game even more.

Thank you. I just saw he had 3 passing TDS all season, and was a sub 60% passer. That mixed with his failed eye test against us made me think this dude isn’t the one.
