Non ND, Week 4 games to watch

Some good games this week. Any chance for some of these upsets?:

1) ASU vs. UCLA: I don't like UCLA, we're battling them for Soso and Aliz'e, and we play ASU soon.

2) Stanford vs. Washington: Haven't seen Stanford yet and want to see how they look.

3) Can Arkansas keep up with Texas AM? Arkansas has scored against poor competition but defense is iffy.

4) Cinci vs. OSU. Maybe the game I'm most interested in. I hate OSU.

5) Can Mizzou beat uSC so they stop getting credit? Mizzou is obviously not a good team.

6) Oregon St. vs. USC

7) How does FSU play against NC State after the big win. NC State is 4-0.

8) Memphis vs. Ole Miss. Memphis played UCLA tough and won easily in the other 2 games. Never know.

TTown, in response to your post: "1) I like ASU in this one simply due to the struggles UCLA has on offense. Yes ASU has a pretty weak defense but can that horrible UCLA score as many point as ASU can? Doubt it."

I believe ASU leads the nation in sacks, FWIW.

I like watching BYU games in general, don't even know who they play but I'll look for it... the ASU game is tomorrow correct??

Those two games come to mind for me.

2) Stanford beats Washington. The Huskies haven't looked very good at all.

3) Interesting game to watch. Both offenses play well in to the other's defense. Can Bert finally get a signature SEC win? I say no.

4) Let's go Cinci... Urban can suck it.

5) Who cares? Neither team is good. Home team wins.

6) Don't really know here. USC maybe.

7) The Wolfpack have given FSU some fits over the years but I expect claw boy to have a big game so all can be well in Tallahassee again.

Even more reason to pick them then.

I want nothing more than to see UC beat OSU. Living in the greater Cincinnati area, there are more than enough OSU fans around to make my brain hurt at various points throughout the CFB season. Also, I'm a big UC fan.

Having said all that, I'm worried about UC's run defense. OSU might be able to cram the ball down UC's throats all game. However, if UC can force OSU into 3rd and long situations, the Bearcat pass rush can go to work, and I like UC's chances MUCH better in that situation.

I'm also nervous about Gunner. He's looked good in his first two games, but he has a tendency to lock on to his intended receiver, especially early in the game. In both games, he was more efficient later in the game, when the pressure was on. I don't know if he's learned how to be a gamer, or if he simply does a better job of going through his progressions after halftime adjustments.

If OSU jumps out to a quick lead, I don't know if Gunner/UC will be able to keep up. However, if UC can keep it close heading to halftime, I think Gunner will have a chance to settle in and start picking apart the OSU secondary, and, perhaps most importantly, UC will start to feel like they can win the game against "Big Brother." Securing that belief might be more important than anything else.

It would be fun to see FSU lose, but I still really think we need them undefeated and #1 for our game.

Agree 100%. But I want every game of theirs to go into the 4th quarter up until our game, so I want NC State to be competitive. FSU does not have a bye week until after our game, so we want them to be wore down.

2011. Hasn't been too long.

Thanks, I do know they struggle a lot up there, especially considering the talent gap that is usually present between the two programs.

FWIW and obviously this is no big deal, but this is week 5 for college football, not week 4.

I actually think they didn't play in 2011 and USC finally beat them up north for the first time in a while last season... either way, OSU has given them fits up in Oregon over the last decade or so...

I don't count weeks where ND doesn't play.

Good catch. If the mods can change the title, that'd be nice.

UCLA vs ASU could be the battle of the back up QBs. It might be another of those boring close games we've been seeing this season. Maybe shades of Stanford-USC. 2 highly ranked regarded teams that can't get out of their own way. Or it could be awesome. I'll be watching, bourbon in hand.

1) ASU vs. UCLA: I think ASU could be the better team.

2) Stanford vs. Washington: Stanford should win this.

3) Arky vs. A&M: A&M wins

4) Cinci vs. OSU. Hmmm...probably tOSU as they've got the horses, but should be an interesting duel between two young QBs.

5) Mizzou vs. USCe: Not sure, I'll go with the ol' ball coach.

6) Oregon St. vs. USC: USC probably rebounds.

7) FSU vs. NC State: I'd be surprised if FSU don't dominate.

8) Memphis vs. Ole Miss. Ole Miss.

One game I apparently missed was Tennessee vs. Georgia. Tennessee is up 10-0. I'm doing a gameday chat on the front page.

Yeah, I was just flipping over and saw that now. Tennessee looks fired up in Georgia's home. They're swarming to the ball, and they scored on both of their opening possessions. The Bulldogs may be in trouble if the Vols can keep the momentum.

NC State just went 75 yards in 2 plays in the first 18 seconds of the game for a TD...
