Bruins up tonight against Flames 7-0 late 2nd. This after last nights 6-1 sack of rocks beating of the Devils. This team is impressive.

Penguins vs Caps tonight. Hate both, but by default I must root for the caps.

Rumor is the Flyers are talking to the Leafs about a JVR for Schenn+ swap. Not really sure how I feel about it

Awww poor Mike Richards.
Sutter says “everybody is way too critical” of Mike Richards | ProHockeyTalk
With just 28 points in 49 games, Los Angeles Kings center Mike Richards has seen his fair share of critics this season.

Not among those critics? His head coach, Darryl Sutter.

“I think that everybody is way too critical of Mike Richards,” Sutter told Rich Hammond of LA Kings Insider . “What he brings is not just measured in statistics.’’

That quote is probably music to Richards’ ears, because his statistics have been lousy since Sutter came on board. Richards has just eight points in his last 22 games while going goalless over his last 12 — not the numbers one expects from a two-time 30-goal man that spent two years in Philadelphia scoring at a point-a-game clip.

That said, Richards recently displayed the intangibles Sutter was talking about after being put on a line with rookie wingers Dwight King and Jordan Nolan. Richards had five shots against the Islanders on Saturday, then assisted on Nolan’s game-winning goal in a 4-2 win over Dallas on Sunday, providing playmaking and leadership for a pair of kids with 10 games of combined NHL experience.

But for all that Richards gave the youngsters, they provided something he’s lacked this season — space.

“After the game against the Islanders, Richards noted how King and Nolan opened up space on the ice with their work ethic,” Hammond writes. “Richards excels when given that space. It’s not unfair to question whether playing with Dustin Penner wasn’t allowing Richards to have that space. “

So, to recap: 1) Everybody is way too critical of Richards, and 2) Everybody is justly critical of Captain Pancake.

the thing with the wings' is that just defy odds, you never see a team racking up that many wins that long! They have players who dont age, Lidstrom perfect example.

"Rangers-Devils Brawl Bad for Hockey"

Keep reading that headline everywhere today. Notice I said EVERYWHERE. During March Madness AND Peyton Manning finding a new home, the NHL is getting front page publicity. With that said, cool beans. Can't wait for playoffs to start.

I was at the Devils Rangers game yesterday. Honestly one of if not THE most exciting sporting event I have ever been to. Started with 12 gloves dropping and an early Rangers goal. There is nothing like the garden when the Rangers/Knicks are good. The fights were great!

I'm jealous dude. I was watching on tv and it was epic. Loved how Torts put Bickle at center to start.

the problem is that with all the moves the kings (Lombardi) have made, they're still EXACTLY where they were before they made all moves(currently sitting 9th in the west). Lombardi outsmarted himself, he didnt get Kovy and paid dearly with multiple draft picks and player acquisitions just for that wing position and none have panned-out; a bunch of 1st round picks invested with the Penner acquistition, and clucking off Simmonds and Schenn....not good, to say the least.

The Kings are technically 1 point from the 3rd spot, but no one fears the kings, and that will continue into the playoffs, if the Kings happen to stumble their way in. There is no one on the Kings Roster that any team fears. Without Quick doing his best Patrick Roy impression, the Kings would be buried in the standings.

as far as a Kings player(s) getting traded to another team only to have success, thats the blueprint of the kings organization going back to at least Bernie Nichols. The Kings got rid of him, and he goes on the score 50 goals and wins a cup.

the future looks good for Simmonds and Schenn....and PHI

Status Quo in LA
