Seabrook signed an 8 year/54 million extension. Good to see them lock him up. Such a dynamic defender along with Keith.

There's no way this case isn't going to be thrown out, right?

Sounds like the girl's friend is withdrawing her testimony too...this is going to hang over Kane's head but the legal picture is looking better and better for him. $$$ wins.

Shoulda spent the money on Saad instead.

I disagree. Saad is very good, but with Panarin, Teravainen and Dano on board, he was more expendable. Those 3 more than make up for the loss of Saad. Seabrook on the other hand is NOT expendable by any means. Not only is he a huge leader on this team, but he's an elite defencemen.

He's not an elite defenseman. He's going to be 31 when the deal kicks in, not a fan of an 8 year deal for a 31 year old.

That's a lot of money for a guy who made his 1st all star game as a 30 year old.

He's a vital part of a winning team's sustained success. The numbers are ludicrous, but I understand paying for that, instead of say, Jay Cutler, who hasn't proven anything.

*The core of Toews, Hossa, Kane, Seabs, Keith and Crawford has "walked the walk." I'm fully behind doing what it takes to keep them together and nickel/dime a roster of support around them.

Looking forward to seeing how the new faces mesh with the Hawks. Panarin and Anisimov playing with Kane could be really exciting, all very skilled offensive players.

Ducks are off to a rough start. I don't like Boudreau's decision to split up Perry and Getzlaf. Hopefully he corrects this error as the season wears on.

Part of me wishes the Flyers would split up Giroux and Voracek

Not happy with the Hawks tonight, especially with the Cubs advancing, the Royals advancing and the White Sox sitting on their asses like a bunch of pathetic chumps. So many missed opportunities, but it's early and we knew that it would take time for the new pieces to adjust. So far 2-2 isn't ideal, but Panarin has looked dominant, Teravainen has found a location and when Dano gets back up, we should be a lot more dynamic offensively. Still not pleased with this one in the slightest. Offense was very lazy tonight.
