I really don't think you blow a 2 goal lead with 14 minutes left in the third period and then hit post in OT and then lose in the third OT... and have a short memory. It will be interesting to say the least. If Thornton doesn't come back, it might be trouble for the Bruins.

I don't think you are familiar with this Bruins squad. They are a veteran team. They realize that if they get one different bounce (shot off of Ferrence's skate or the clear from Krug gets through) and they win in Regulation. It's Hockey, these things happen. They didn't collapse like Toronto in game 7 in Boston in the first round. These things happen. Remember, they lost the first 2 on the road to Vancouver 2 years ago, and won in 7. And for the record, it's Horton and yes, if he doesn't return, it will be a loss. He however got injured 2 years ago and missed the Finals (or most of them) w a concusion.

Agree with M2SB. The Bruins are as gritty as they come. I wouldn't count them out if they get down 3-0.

Espn cares about sports they have contracts with. That's it.

I love all of a sudden all their personalities have come to Jesus on soccer... after years of bashing it. That of course is because all of them, all at once, up and changed their minds... it has nothing to do with them now carrying soccer games from multiple leagues and nations...

I defy anyone to argue a different sport has better playoffs,

Numerous reasons to love the NHL playoffs.
Here's a few of my personal favorites:
1. Beards (Nuff said)
2. Hand Shake Line (CLASS)
3. Not touching any trophies but the cup (If you're smart)
4. The Cup
5. All the crazy Euro names (I found myself singing along to Lawyers Guns and Money today and substituted Tuuka Rask for took a little risk. Stupid? yes, but still awesome and I'm still groggy from last night's marathon)
6. Octopus (Yes, Detroit sucks, but how cool is throwing a dead octopus on the ice after a goal? Can you imagine sitting next to the guy that smuggled it into the stadium in his pants? Stinky)
7. Goalie cat calls (I still remember sitting in the old stadium as a kid yelling "Potvin, Potvin, Potvin")
8. It takes four losses to be eliminated. Football is so sudden. One bad game and you're done. At least hockey kind of prepares you for the upcoming doom.

Was thinking before game 1 about the last time Jagr faced the Hawks in the finals-he dominated Eddie and Chicago in 1991-2. Highly dissapointing season that was. Hard to believe this guy is still around.

He's a freak. He would of been on the ice last night at midnight regardless of 3OTs, the only difference would of been jags would of been skating in the dark with a weighted vest on...

And I'm not kidding about any of that.. At like, all..

I posted a read on his conditioning routine a few pages back..

Jamie Benn tweeted this I believe in the 2OT last night

@jamiebenn14: Pretty sure this is Jagr favorite time to go skating! Midnight is almost here! #LateNightSkates #GuysAMachine #JJ68

Horton not Thorton...but I agree this could have a HUGE impact. Horton + Krejci + Lucic has been unstoppable this postseason.

They are pro athletes, not teenage girls. This is basically the same team that blew a 3-0 series lead against the Flyers and won the cup the next year. They'll be fine...

Oh also they blew a 3-1 series lead to the Leafs and were trailing 4-1 in the 3rd during game 7, so yeah.

Chicago Blackhawks show new-look lineup at Friday's practice - chicagotribune.com

Saad moving up to the top line. Bickell will play with Shaw and Boland on the third line. Bollig remains in the lineup, on the fourth line with Frolik and Kruger.

I guess Q liked what he got out of Bollig on Wednesday? I didn't see it but whatever. I'd prefer to get Stalberg back in there.

On the other hand, Shaw, Boland and Bickell on one line? That is a lot of nastiness. I'm intrigued by that possibility.

Bump

I find the Blackhawks play better when I do the majority of my game time posting in the NHL thread as opposed to the vbook game thread.

Let's Go Blackhawks!

Friend of mine has tickets to the game tonight. All day he was rubbing it in.

All day it was tonight when I'm at the Hawks game ....
The he called me and said yea I'm my way to the Hawks game but I wanted to know ....
Then he just texted me and his text started out I'm at the Hawks game but I had a question about ... something totally unrelated to the Blackhawks game but he wanted to start his sentence off with that just to point out he was at the game.

This conversation just occurred where I'm at:

Friend's wife: "Who's the penalty on?"
Me: "The Bruins"
Friend: "Crap!"

Yes Blackhawks fan actually come to dread being on the PP.

Fantastic start.

No goal on the Toews shot appeared to be the right call.

Almost a let down to be only up 1 to 0 after that kind of dominant start but I'll take it.

Keep it up guys!
