Simon Gagne is a Flyer again. Lol
great move by homer, gags will most likely hang it up where he started and hopefully has something left in the tank.. just wasn't fitting in with the LAK system..i think they're bringing depth to the F may be sign of a bigger move..
rumblings about big buff from the jets.. (which i would hate..)
also the Blues GM has been at the last few flyers games.. so could be a move coming out of the Flyers/Blues camps.
if not.. as a funny tweet i saw today said..
"At least when this orange and black ship goes down, we'll be surrounded by loved ones."
at any rate glad to see gags come home.. grew up with #12, dude had some big goals in his days here... game winner vs boston in 2010.. game winner in OT to force a game 7 with the bolts in the ECF.
Haha yeah, the lol was more about all the familiar faces they are bringing back.
I'm fine with making a trade but I just hope they don't make a stupid panic trade. They need to and should keep..
B. Schenn
Simmonds
Voracek
Read
Couturier.
Although i'd move Couturier for the right return.
Depending on his next contract demands I'd move Read next year in the offseason. With a team like the Flyers that operates towards the cap ceiling it's nice to have a guy like him on the team with an ELC.I'm can pretty much assure you simmer and jake will not be going anywhere any time soon with contract extensions... (then again carter signed that huge deal and was shipped out soon after...)
i would be willing to move read out of the mentioned pieces, coots is already an elite defensive forward with an offensive ceiling that is pretty high, i think schenn and coots are the most untouchable, whispers came out about moving coots for pk subban when he was going through his contract dispute with the Habs, but i could only wonder why they would be willing to move coots when they weren't willing to move him to get Shea Weber out of Nashville..at any rate
imo i think reads value will never be higher with the way he was skating before his injury and after the numbers he put up his rookie year. important to keep in mind he's already older then Giroux to put in perspective. he just has his rookie year and he's one of the older scoring line forwards..time will tell either way.. but if the right piece came along and it came down to it.. id drive read to the airpot..

I was just looking back and it's nuts what those Carter and Richards returns fetched them. They used 1 of the picks they got in the Richards deal to get Grossmann. So essentially it was
Carter and Richards for Schenn, Jake, Simmer, Couturier, Grossmann and Nick Cousins(last I knew he was leading the OHL in scoring) frickin incredible.
yup, and the casual hockey fan doesn't even pick up on what Cousins has been doing in juniors..26 G 72 A...kid has a chance to become something special too.
Simon Gagne scores in his 1st game back with the Flyers.

I really hope Gagne has lots of success this season. I really like him and I am kind of bummed he couldn't find his way in to the lineup on a regular basis. Just wasn't in the cards in LA I think. He got his Cup so he can at least have that, but I am sure he would have liked to have contributed more than he did.
Simmonds is having quite the year for you guys isn't he? He is one I couldn't be happier for. I really like his upside.
So if the Hawks continue to refuse to lose in regulation, at what point in the season do you think they clinch the a playoff spot/the division/ the conference?
*Granted, I am sure they will lose in regulation at some point this season, but it is fun to ponder the "what ifs".

HAWKS.
Just bought NHL Center Ice and there are 2 ****ing games on it. WTF????? I thought you get them all! I bought it to save on bar tabs, looks like I'm going to the bar now. Eff you Comcast, you suck.
Xoxo Steelhead
There's only 2 games on right now.....
I meant the only 2 on CI tonight are Edmonton-St Louis and Anaheim-don't remember. Hawks are on NHL, and you don't even get that with CI. What a crock.
You should. I get the NHL network with Center Ice
