She didn't sing a single word. My wife liked the dancing sharks tho...

Are you sure? She ad-libbed portions that were different from the radio version, and her mouth seemed to match up with those. She might just be a very gifted lip-syncer or she was singing.

She did both. Her mic was live, but they played music behind her. She only ad-libbed when there were musical interludes.

No one is going to sing all of the words in a big production like that, especially in front of 50,000 people. That's silly.

Yeah it wasn't the radio version but it was definitely pre-recorded. They pre-record a less-than-perfect version so it's not as obvious if they just pressed "play" on the CD track. I've seen stories that it's actually the NFL that insists on this, since they don't want to risk a less than perfect halftime show at their marquee event.

McCartney was so good and all of the people my age made fun of it, which is why we get freaking Black Eyed Peas.

Yeah, I'd imagine the NFL doesn't want to take chances. Still, I thought it was a pretty convincing performance. I guess the pre-recorded parts with live mic makes sense.

Au contraire, Wooly bear.

Katy Perry isn't Sir Paul McCartney.

The vast majority of artists playing arenas do this. Not only to guarantee that the music side of the production goes smoothly, but also because they would sound like $hit trying to sing while climbing off of 30 foot tall tigers and stuff. In todays dance/sing productions, it is difficult to give a quality sound to 50,000 people without voice over.

Katy Perry isn't Sir Paul McCartney.

Not to mention that Sir Paul had had 45+ years performing both live and in a studio. He had a proven track record*. Without the aid of autotune and all that shyte.

I still find it difficult to listen to Live and Let Die. "The ever changing world in which we live in" grinds my grammar gears and makes me cringe.

*Did you see what I did there? Double pun!

Lord, me, too. He easily could have thrown in a "bro" or "dude" instead of the second "in"......

Not sure what the musical term is, but I've always felt that he should have extended "live" to two syllables with the "... ive" a few notes lower to achieve the same meter and melody.

Except those aren't the lyrics.

If this ever changing world in which we're living...

As much as I loathe Wikipedia as a source:

"Comments have been made over the years about the lyrics that ambiguously are either "this ever-changing world in which we live in" or "this ever-changing world in which we're living". The "in which we live in" version has been cited as being redundant and/or improper grammar. When asked about the lyrics, McCartney responded that he doesn't remember for sure himself, but that he thinks it is "in which we're living."

Listen carefully and critically to the original recording.

Methinks he decided to cover his arse with King's/Queen's English once knighted ...

That was reported the night of the playoff game.

Ya, but then there were also reports that the Colts first complained to the NFL when they met during the regular season, and also reports that the Ravens were involved. Prominent reporters said that it was a "sting" by the NFL to try and catch the Pats in the act. There have been so many false leaks in this story, it's fairly entertaining.

NFL Should Ban Jim Irsay, Chuck Pagano For Patriots DeflateGate Accusations « CBS Boston

Made me laugh. I don't know anything about Kravitz, but his reporting on this story has been pretty hilarious. He came in so hot saying Belichick must be fired, and has been slowly backing away from that claim as time goes by.
Kravitz is a total homer, but everyone in Indy seems to love him. http://deadspin.com/robert-mathis-picks-a-ped-fight-with-the-nfl-hes-not-go-1578394706

I remember him going on an Indy sports radio program defending Robert about his suspension. I never put too much stock in his opinion/accusations. Maybe it's because I'm used to Chicago sports media, but the Indy media seemed to be total pushover Homers when I was there.

I actually like the Colts and root for them every non-Pats game, but I would LOVE for this to be true...but I assume it is BS
