NFL Fantasy Football Keeper 2018

I may institute FAAB for a league I've been running for a while.

We voted last year to change some rules for our second decade (this is year 11), so we are moving from standard scoring to ppr, and from a redraft league to a keeper league.

I had never heard of FAAB, but it sounds like an interesting layer to add when we are already changing other things. Is there software out there that allows for FAAB? I haven't checked Yahoo to see if you can do FAAB via their software.

I understand how FAAB works and I agree that it's a better system. I just don't think it's appropriate to change the rules of a keeper league several seasons in. If I'm outvoted, I'll still be in.

I think the three round penalty option is terrible and defeats the entire purpose of a keeper league in the first place.

It has only been a keeper league for 2 seasons and I think the goal is to keep this going for a long time. I don't mind waiting a full season before we implement changes but let's vote on them now.

Yahoo does have FAAB waivers as an option, so we can put that to a vote. I like it for the fact that it will reward people for making shrewd waiver moves instead of lucking into a breakout star just because they happen to have priority.

Also we can discuss switching up the payouts. I remember bringing it up towards the end of last season and it seemed to be positively received. I can dig up the specifics later, but from what I remember I was proposing all playoff teams winning something.

August 28 at 8 would be good. We want to make sure we do it after the third preseason games which are 8/24 or 8/25 I think.

Sorry everybody - just noticed I’m not listed as “confirmed” in the OP but I did activate my team on the league page on yahoo, so hopefully my lack of response in this thread didn’t create too much confusion. Also I am a big supporter of FAAB. I probably even agitated for it last year or the year before.

No issue. I brought back all the teams from last season and figured we would just make changes at a later date if needed.

Can we get a refresh of the keeper rules? Do I do my own keepers thru yahoo, or do I need to post them here for the commish to do commish things about it?

(I skimmed the first page of this thread and didn't see a list of rules, so forgive me if I missed it. I think I recall you can't keep guys drafted in first two rounds, and you pay a one round penalty every year you keep a guy. So can we confirm that is correct and also let me know the number of guys I can keep? Thanks.)

The rules are all on the league page i'm pretty sure. I can link them when I get home from work.

You can set your own keepers, but I like it if everyone posts them here too because I have to manually edit the draft order.
