Matt Luke just oozes SEC to me. Guy is still rockin the Ole Miss frat hairstyle. Just seems out of place at ND. His sons are in school and it seems hard to believe he would make such a move. That being said, I hope they get him. I would just be very surprised though if it happens.

"He isn't driven by dollars" but Ole Miss paid him 6 million to go away. So there's that.

The fact that he is entertaining the idea of returning to coaching I think says a lot about the situation, and he’s already been on campus. The fact that he’s considering a return because it’s ND (if true) says that ND still has that allure.

Now do we know if he’s the first to be interviewed? After watching the OC interviews it seems they went after their top targets first.

It indeed would be a home run hire, my only question though is has he ever coached anywhere not in the south?

I will say I like how they seem to be taking their time on this hire. Either they appreciate the gravity of this hire or a bunch of top dudes are turning us down.
If the tone here is to be followed then they probably aren’t aware of the opening just yet,…

Flight Tracker never fails to let us down.
Driskell saying today that looking at the flight tracker is stalker behavior and that we saw with the Ludwig fiasco why fans speculating can poison the well for the person they do hire was El-Oh-El behavior.

My dude, no one poisoned the well for Parker as much as Freeman and Notre Dame did by taking him on a date to the hockey game and broadcasting it on Peacock.

Definitely no surprise the OL search is little to no leakage. They certainly aren't going to let the narrative get away from them this time.

Driskell calling people out for being stalkers is rich

He's sure come a long way since slow-clapping Dante Moore from the bushes during his last campus visit.

Damn, Matt Luke would be freaking awesome!!

Dale and I talked about this the other day (I think in this thread). Luke would be the biggest home run hire by MF in his tenure here, for multiple reasons- good coach, good recruiter, experienced, was a HC and OC (or at least a Co-OC), has put a lot of dudes in the league, coached under some good head coaches and play callers, and well respected by coaches throughout the country.

"His family will remain a very important part of Luke's decision to stay retired, or to get back into coach. According to sources, the interview went extremely well and Luke impressed everyone at Notre Dame. Whether or not that means he chooses to come out of retirement remains to be seen.
According to another source, Notre Dame has helped Luke gather information about the local school districts in order to help Luke and his wife, Ashley, have everything they would need to make a decision about coming out of retirement, or not. "

Seems like they could probably afford to pay for private schools if they don't like the local school districts.

Yeah. I thought that bit odd...
SB schools aren't known to be stellar.
