+1. I believe little gimmicks like this are just the beginning though, and Kelly is fully committed to bringing this program into the 21st century, which IMO isn't entirely a bad thing. As lame as some think they are, alternate uniforms can actually be a positive recruiting tool.

^This! Totally agree. I think Turf is coming in next with the changes. Uniforms...well what 18 yr old doesn't want to have the coolest looking uniform to put on? Makes a difference whether we like it or not. Look forward to what else might come! :)

I think it is telling that BK is revealing these uniform items to students, because students are the same age as players. That seems to be a tacit acknowledgment that these types of uniform issues hold weight with kids of this age. I'm big on tradition, but if wearing a different uniform every once in a while helps make the program more "cool" in the eyes of recruits, then I'm all for doing one game in a "throwback" uni, doing a game in a more modern "alternate" jersey, or wearing the greens every once in a while. The most important tradition is winning. If wearing a different uniform every once in a while helps with getting more kids to look at ND as a cool place to play, that will help you recruit, which will help you win.

The only alternate I like is the green should be worn maybe once a year other than that its good to modernize but we are nd for a reason

I want neon green unis with glow in the dark gold helmets...scratch that.. Green tops, white pants, and orange socks. They would be like walking irish flags! Man where do I get these great ideas!?
