The II crew gave their answers on whether they think the following players will return:

Sneed: All 4 said no
Wagner: Sampson-Yes, O'Malley-No, Brice-ND would have to give him close to $1M or another team will get him
Craig: All 4 said yes
Traore: All 4 said yes
Burnham: O'Malley-Yes, Prister-"I hope so"
Ty Washington: All 4 said yes, Prister-Not sure there's a market for him out there
Payne: All said no except Sampson...if the RB room clears out he could be the #2 RB next year
Hinish: All 4 said yes
Greathouse: O'Malley was the only to make a prediction, he said no, but it's just a guess
I haven't given it a listen yet, but are the conclusions foregone on the players they didn't bring up? What's everyone's take on the following:

Schrauth: Uber talent, injury prone and hasn't made it thru a full season.

Shuler: 2 year starter; coin flip, big cfp run could push him

Rendell: Hopefully gets another year. Lawyer up.

Bowen: see Shuler.

Onye: Thought he was out of eligibility until he referenced it in an interview a month ago. Would be a massive retention. Lawyer up.

Raridon: same track as Onye.

Aneyas: Headscratcher. Easy to argue he deserved a bigger role this season, but would potentially be in line as a top 2 rb unless he doesn't jive with Seider.

Price: Was gone after a big start to the season, but the fumble bug bit him and will affect his stock unless he has a big stretch run.

They briefly mentioned Price but they acted like he's 100% gone. On Previous podcasts they've said the issue with Schrauth is that he's coming off an injury and he's not a 1st rounder, so they think he'll be back. Jamie and Greg from ISD, I want to say last week, said they expect Shuler back.

Regarding Wagner, they also said that if he gets crazy offers they can use that money to take care of Traore because they like some of the younger Tackles. I assume they're referring to Black and perhaps Lambert if they move him back to Tackle.

Did they happen to mention if our kickers are coming back or going pro.

TIFWIW, John Brice on today's II Podcast: "I do know they're making preparations to make some very key, strong acquisitions in the portal."
Also, II again made it sound like Wagner won't be on the roster bc of salary he can get on an open market

Nice. Letting experienced OL leaders leave again. What could go wrong?
I'd keep him unless both Schrauth and Absher are back. I don't know if the staff can trust Jagusah to play an entire season.

We have a similar situation to this year where there's 7-8 starting caliber players and only 5 spots. Might see some turnover again.
NFL...sometimes you have a good player who tests Free Agency and gets a better offer. You can't match so you tip your hat. This is where the new GM should thrive.

Knapp, Sully, Craig, Lambert, Jagusah....Black, Otting, Augustine, Those are 8 guys for 5 spots. Another 2 younger guys and freshmen could emerge. Not saying I agree, but I see the logic. If Wagner $ could go to a stud DT or WR...
Is Schrauth expected to declare? Hit the portal? Seems like the vibe is he's gone.

Are we sure Absher comes back? Seems like he could fetch a lot of money from an SEC team.

It’s not necessarily about what the staff thinks, it’s more so what the players think if they will start or not. Coaches telling players “if so and so is injured you’ll start” isn’t a reassuring feeling despite injury history.

Everyone on the team knows if jagusah is healthy he is starting. He’s our best LT, LG, RG, RT.

Jagusah, Billy if he returns, and Knapp are absolute locks to start. Probably lambert next closest. The two true frosh this year (Augustine and black) are impressive.
