I reluctantly went through the Singer recruiting pod from today real fast to see if anything important was going on & man, he is so out of touch.
1) He goes on a long rant, (even though he admits nobody as told him this), that he doesn’t believe ND would pass on Smith after recruiting him for a year. Then says “he believes” ND would “do cartwheels” if Smith called now to commit.
Keep in mind 247, ISD & IB are all reporting the opposite (and say they have sources). IB straight up said “ND is no longer an option for him.”
2) Says that Tae Johnson could still end up ND, “who knows?”
I don’t think he realizes that ND would love to get Tae, but there is more to it than that. As reported by 247 & IB (not sure about ISD), Tae can’t go to ND for other reasons.

Also find it funny that he once again isn’t coming in for the B&G game & huge recruiting weekend. Every other insider will be there.
They need to just give Kyle Kelly the recruiting responsibilities & let Singer move along.

I know zero about singer. His personality on his podcast (which is all I know of him) is just so disgustingly douche baggy

The likelyhood that SInger (an "insider"?) does not know that there is more to Tae's recruitment status and the reasons for said status are low considering everyone here even knows that piece of information just from reading this very forum. Your criticisms are over stated.

"Coach" Driskell by far gets the most criticism on this board, which he deserves cristism, but i don't understand why Singer isn't the most criticized. The dude knows nothing about football, hates us ND fans, has no sources and is super lazy. Driskell might me annoying AF but he does know football, loves ND, has sources and works hard.
That being said I no longer listen to either so it doesn't really matter

I reluctantly listened to it as well and Singer comes across as someone who thinks ND football is so beneath him. He acts like "why do I have this job"? That guy has zero sources and he lives in Atlanta so not sure how he is able to have access to the program or its inner workings. You are right in that ON3 would be smart to give Kyle Kelly the job and have Singer find a job more suitable to him and his grating personality.

Because no one listens to Singer. Can't criticize him if we don't know what he's saying. Dicksell gets it because he knows a shit ton about football, he's just a dbag sometimes.

What I do like about Driskell is he is a die hard ND fan. I like that some of these folks are die hards and want ND to win and be successful (Prister, O'Malley, Somogyi (RIP) are like this). I like their perspective as it normally is how I feel about ND. I can appreciate guys like Loy and Sampson too but neither are ND fans. Singer is definitely not an ND fan and it shows.

Reading between the lines, it seems like ND would maybe take a commitment from one, but not both, of the twins.

Since they’re a package deal, and since ND has Mullins and Young both in really good spots, they can afford to pass on a package deal where they aren’t totally sold on the entire package.

Get the two guys you know you lead for, keep pushing for Rushing, and find another interior guy if you really want one.

Smart for ND, and better to make the call now than to have not one but TWO holes to fill if you miss or they change their mind later.

Let the scUM douchers think they won it on their own merit, and let Singer be the contrarian just to be different… since he doesn’t bring anything else to the table lol

I prefer a guy like Sampson who is generally professional and level headed. Driskell gets too wrapped up in players sometimes due to recruiting, even if they haven't necessarily proven it on the field (Like 5 Star Philure).

It happens. FWIW, Driskell had a good show. His voice was sore and he seemed straight forward and a bit humble. Perhaps it was because it was just him.

finally watching the goolsby show on the spring game and I'm fucking dying laughing...Goolsby noting how terrible buchner looked and he just starts off the show by saying he's "confused," then continues to tear into him. Is the spell broken???

It's easy to champion Buchner when the alternative is Pyne. Now that's he's being compared to Hartman, it's easier for Goolsby to see the forest for the trees.

Amazing to me how far ND has settled over the years at QB - has been a missing link for ages and IMO a large reason our WRs have been unremarkable as a group never meeting their potential. Should be so easy to recruit to ND with solid run game, national audience and QBs generally being academic qualifiers. Stop drafting and go pull talent off the portal as far as I'm concerned. Jack Coan being a great example. No reason we can't have NDQB as #1 NIL earner in CFB with the top talent begging to transfer. Sam will show us the way.

It wasn't just Tommy, Kelly didn't do anything to bolster the QB ranks either during recruiting or in their development at ND. He was the common denominator across several OCs and it was his system. I'm not absolving Rees, but the HC is/was the bigger problem.

Agreed. What a pisser though that Kelly seems to actually getting it right at LSU. Their QB room is stuffed and steady. He should have done it here.
