In fairness, Brice was the only one giving us an accurate number of players. The others were pretty adamant that we would be landing 10-12 portal guys.
My complaint is actually very specific. I think they were intentionally misleading by juxtaposing getting defensive tackles with getting SEC players. Leading the audience to the natural conclusion that (fuck yeah we big boys now we winning cfp games) Georgia and Alabama style d tackle sec players on the way. When talking SEC SEC SEC, it is the D line and maybe ROLB that matter. No one is SEC SEC over O lineman for example. So did we get d tackles? Yep USC and Louisville and that is fine. But when they conflated dline with SEC and I get motherfucking back up tight end from Arkansas I feel lied to and defrauded by how they deliberately sold it for clicks and subscriptions. These are grown ass men doing this under the guise of media/journalism. Fuck em they lied to me and I am pissy about it.

II with the Tims and JB is my favorite. Professional journalism by true ND men in the Tims. JB may have missed a little lately but he's been a great add.

ISD Power is a close second as I enjoy the fan passion Mike Frank with the stoic professionalism of Jamie U.
ISD Hit and Hustle is also good. Greg may be a super fan, but guy knows his DB stuff. Goes good with Jamie

B&G, i like the banter of Hyde and Goolsby, two ND fans talking who know a lot about ball but don't take themselves too seriously. Singer is fine as part of a group, not good solo.

IB, I think them. Fan of the new add in Trevor. Driskell knows a lot about ball, but sometimes it's information overload. Haven't listened much lately just because it's so much content.

Always Irish, dudes a super fan and he's crazy. It gets a bit much with the championship or bust attitude but I dig the passion. He's just a subway alumni who gets to make a living talking ND football. He's conquered life. My kids always as to listen to the "angry irish guy"

Independent, I can't stand either of those guys. Go follow another team if you dispise your job so much.

Brice/Prister/O’Malley are best for coaching/behind the scenes program stuff

Jamie U is by far the best X’s and O’s guy

Sampson is good for random pieces of knowledge and is worth listening to if you can fast forward through Fortuna’s parts

Goolsby makes more off of his Patreon with Always Irish than John Kennedy (or whatever his name is) makes off of his own content.

Comical.

What do people think of Inside ND Sports with Eric Hansen and Tyler James?

I don't listen to them but in the rare event I read a piece of theirs, they come across as the most journalistic guys (or at worst Pete's equals)

But I'd expect that as they're real (former) journalists.

He also writes for SI or something i think. I do know he quit his "normal" job a couple of years ago to go full time with his current situation. But I do not know if he has a sugar momma allowing him to do it or if he's making a living salary himself.

My top two are II and ISD power hour.

I like the trio of Prister, O'Malley and Brice and their back and forth, with Sampson chirping in at times.
I like Mike Frank for his "tell it how it is" approach and Jamie U. for his detailed knowledge of the game.

My favorite parts are when Fortunas mike is muted.
I mostly just listen to the Independent, and it’s amazing how little Fortuna brings to the table. Many posters here know more about Notre Dame football in 2025 than he does. Which makes sense as it has been years since he actually covered Notre Dame.

Someone summarize. Fuck that assclown, Wolken.
Honestly the sooner everyone starts talking about it, the better. Wolken just got butt hurt some players were mean to him and tried to smear them in retaliation. It's a big nothing burger.

Hansen witnessed BenMo yelling at Wolken after Wolken's interaction with Gray but didn't actually see what happened between Wolken and Gray. Did some investigating afterward to try to get a more complete picture of what happened and concluded that some in the media blew the incident out of proportion (he didn't mention Wolken but was clearly referring to him), but also admitted ND's sports info personnel should have done a better job of giving Gray more time to compose himself and preparing him for the inevitable questions he was going to receive.

Here's the article.

I'm sure the Notre Dame sports info people could've handled the situation better, but the fact that we're talking about Ben Morrison and Christian Gray - both of whom seem like remarkably classy, thoughtful and well-spoken young men in any media interaction I've ever seen of them - further backs up the notion that Wolken was blowing this out of proportion.
But I still can't get over them having full press availability in the losing locker room after a college football game. That seems like problems waiting to happen.

The fact that Morrison is the one who stepped up tells me everything I need to know about these vultures. Seems like the big miss was ND SID not being there running cover for Gray directly, but wtf.

I hadn't thought about it for football, but the press has had access to the losing team in the ncaa basketball tourney since the early 90s. Always getting clips of guys crying, etc. Not that long ago, but D'Aaron Fox crying and talking about how much the loss hurt is the first one that comes to mind.

Googling a bit, it looks like the ncaa doesn't have a stance in football and the cfp just used the ncaa bball policy. Fucking clowns.

Prister’s first response on this news:

“Not sure how this will impact Mike Mickens' desire for Notre Dame coordinator duties. The possibility of co-coodinators still exists.

More tomorrow on Irish Illustrated. Will be addressed further on our Irish Illustrated Insider podcast.”

THAT'S Prister take on this?

I can't imagine paying for any of the ND beat services. They're beyond useless.

Maybe they need to gather more information themselves before they put anything out?

Presumably that’s what they’ve been doing all week?

Apparently Brice and Sampson have, I guess they’ll have the floor on the podcast episode
