ND's Path to the 2015 Playoffs

If Iowa wins out, it will mean that they beat MSU or tOSU in the B1G title game. Undefeated with a blowout in Evanston and in that title game, Iowa would have absolutely earned it.

Yeah, Iowa winning out m eans they probably take the B1G playoff spot. They'd jump us, but tOSU would drop too. I don't see Iowa winning out, but they would be more favorable an opponent

ND will be rated 4th Tuesday. Had Clemson lost we would have been rated 3rd, but you can't have everything. Mack Brown and even Mark May are singing our praises. The Pitt win is considered a very solid one. The selection committee is not fooled by late garbage TDs by opponents. Navy is about to make us even more solid. No one will pass us if we continue solid looking wins. Baylor looked bad vs KState and TCU got clobbered. BIG12 is immolating. PAC12 is in our hands. People think we're as good as Clemson. People probably think we're as good as any B1G. We've drawn a good hand right now.

I posted that in the LSU Bama betting thread, but I agree. Since LSU hasn't played anyone decent until now, hopefully the committee will see them as "exposed" and drop them past us. If Bama wins by 20+ and LSU is still in front of us, then the SEC bias is REAL.

Alabama losing to Ole Piss in retrospect could end up being the game that saved our playoff hopes. If Alabama was undefeated right now we'd be in trouble because if LSU ran the table after tonight they would still be in the mix. I think the committee would feel it could justify 2 SEC teams if Alabama was undefeated, but I don't think it can justify 2 1 loss SEC teams. So long as we continue to win out I don't think we'll have a problem staying in front of LSU.

With NAVY beating Memphis, they should be in the top 25 rankings this week. This will put two teams we defeated, Temple and NAVY in the Top 25 Rankings, even further strengthening our SOS

And those two teams are a combined 15-2 with the only 2 losses being to us. If USC can get their s**t together win a few more they should be ranked in a week or two.
