You haven’t contributed to this thread all season and you wanna start now with your trolling in here. Get outta here and go back to the hole you came from. These ladies gave their blood sweat and tears for four years to the university, to the program, to women’s basketball. No one ever plays perfectly and they didn’t tonight but they left it all out on the floor. They deserve our respect and admiration.
I don't think the criticism is wrong. Once Cox went down, our girls went on the first sustained run of the game. Cox had basically shut down Shepard for the first three quarters. The twin towers for Baylor were tough, and that is why they dominated almost everyone in the tournament short of the Irish. They are an exceptional team.
With Cox out, I think their center Brown started to get exposed. She is heavier and slower than Cox and ND seemed to get to the rim more with Cox out. If Cox stays in the game, I see no reason to believe it would be closer than a 7 point Baylor win.
Young played good defense, but scoring wise-had a disappointing couple of games to end the tournament. She can be lightning when her shots are falling, but it just wasn't there for her.
That being said, I would like to thank the team and the coaches for another wonderful season. This has been a really nice run with this group, and they play with exceptional heart and determination. They NEVER gave up. Heart of champions no matter what the score board says.
Shout outs:
I love the feistiness of Mabrey, she is my favorite player on this team. She is a leader through and through. Ogunbowale had a great overall game start to finish, though Baylor made her take lots of shots to get her points. She also played better defense in the second half when ND made their run. Turner had a very quiet, but productive game as usual. Didn't get the usual number of blocks, but her opponents were both bigger and taller than she is so it is understandable.
Overall a wonderful year for the ladies. Can't wait to see the new faces next year.
