Gottleib talked smack, got looked up, and did the smart thing and got the fire extinguisher.
Fouling 3 point shooters, failing to make free throws, and turnovers are all deadly sins. Certainly can't do all three in the final minute of a game and expect to win. Team can regroup or the team can play the string out. I think this group will continue to get better. What is the ceiling for this team? ACC play will definitely sort that out.
Right now, Notre Dame has played like the 9th best ACC team behind Cuse, Pitt, Duke, UNC, Duke, Virginia, FSU, Clemson, and Maryland. I think ND can end up being better than Pitt, Clemson, and Maryland, so I'd say 6th is the ceiling with a shot at 5th if someone falters big time. Cuse, Duke, and UNC are the top teams, and FSU and Virginia are the second-tier. Pitt, ND, Maryland, and Clemson are the 3rd tier, NC State, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Miami are the 4th tier, and Boston College is the worst team in the league.
