officials have been guilty of star treatment ever since basketball was invented.

and as much as some may hate to admit it....craft is a star in the college game.

Did you watch the Delaware game? Craft gets a steal, announcers start fawning over Craft about what a great defensive player he is.

At the time out, they show the replay, he tomahawked a guy. Literally hit him damn near the elbow, and no call.

I've literally never seen anything like it before.

i've watched every ohio st basketball game....and stand by my original statement

he absolutely gets away with things, but again he's a star so he's going to get away with things

Why is he a star? Because he plays hard? He's good defensive player?

He's a below average shooter. A mediocre ball handler. A pretty good passer (although, look at the scorer's that he's played with from an assist point of view). He is a great defender (like I've said, he gets a way with a TON).

I guess I've just never seen such an average player get so many accolades because he "plays hard".

you can be mad about it all you want, but it's a fact...guarantee you every coach in america knows who he is and is scared to death to play against him.

and yes, he's a star for the very reasons you stated. he is not an elite athlete, but he gives elite effort that makes up for his lack of physical tools.

i agree he gets away with as much/more than anyone, but he is so quick and has such great hands and basketball instincts that he's able to hide those fouls by being in great position, which was something he was taught for four years in high school by one of the best high school coaches in ohio.

Come on. I live an hour from LB.

If anyone has ever been to a practice/clinic that preached the values of fouling when your back is to a ref, I'd love to hear the testimonial.

What an incredible collapse. Brey had no business putting the freshman with zero free throws in his career in such a high pressure situation. The foul on the 3 point shooter was one of the dumbest decisions I've ever seen. The inability to break the press gave OSU all of the momentum.

Quality post from a glass house guy with all of 58 comments in two years for all ND sports while sporting a football only avatar.

House got served, well done.

Gottlieb to Sherman: "never was ineligible, but u were 5 or so at the time--not holding it against you-”

Gottlieb responding to his own tweet after the game: "ND's last minute 2night #boom “@GottliebShow: Things worse than Garrick Sherman’s beard...go"

Sherman to Gottlieb: "very well done Doug. Your maturity and class never fails to shine through… got any credit cards I can borrow?”

Gottlieb to Sherman: "i got nothing but love my man,the beard is a good Amish look--u have the right to swing back--or shave--”

Sherman to Gottlieb: "I have no love for you or respect for you. You’re biased and ignorant. Stay outta my mentions”

Gottlieb to Sherman: "sorry I struck a nerve, losing sucks, been there, travel safe, and read up a bit,u might want to rethink ur stance”

Gottleib talked smack, got looked up, and did the smart thing and got the fire extinguisher.

Fouling 3 point shooters, failing to make free throws, and turnovers are all deadly sins. Certainly can't do all three in the final minute of a game and expect to win. Team can regroup or the team can play the string out. I think this group will continue to get better. What is the ceiling for this team? ACC play will definitely sort that out.

Right now, Notre Dame has played like the 9th best ACC team behind Cuse, Pitt, Duke, UNC, Duke, Virginia, FSU, Clemson, and Maryland. I think ND can end up being better than Pitt, Clemson, and Maryland, so I'd say 6th is the ceiling with a shot at 5th if someone falters big time. Cuse, Duke, and UNC are the top teams, and FSU and Virginia are the second-tier. Pitt, ND, Maryland, and Clemson are the 3rd tier, NC State, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Miami are the 4th tier, and Boston College is the worst team in the league.

I've now been to the last 2 miracle losses by ND (@Michigan 2010 & last night). This one was really tough. Bonehead plays by Pat and Grant.

I watched the highlights just now. How was that called out of bounds off Jerian with 10 seconds left?? It looked like it got slapped out of his hands (may have been a foul regardless).

We just quietly got up and walked to Greenwich Village without more than five words being said during the thirty-block trek. I about jumped off a bridge.

I joyfully spent the next 4 hours drinking with OSU fans but they were surprisingly nice about it so it wasn't that bad.
