It is a little concerning but he is most likely never gonna get you 20pts a game. His skill set is more defense and rim protector and rebounder. Will be nice to actually see a big man on defense in the middle for once.

Not to get ahead of myself but it’s crazy to think that possibly the only person we lose after this season is Rex. And I know Rex is a great defender and glue guy but he could easily be replaced by Goodwin or carmody. And if TJ does decide to come back next year this team could be really really good. Also add in Stewart if we were to get him. Geez I’m getting way ahead of myself but the future looks bright

Personally, Rex graduating will be addition by subtraction for the team. He never really panned out for Brey.

Yep, him going 2-14 is more concerning than Durham going 1-7 imo. Glad we got freshman who can score. We’re gonna need it.

A bit harsh imo. He is good when he is a 4th or 5th option because of all the rest he can do. Him being needed to take that many shots doesn't suit his game.

Apparently I severely underestimated this staff's ability to recruit top talent. I don't have much hope in landing Stewart, but Mitchell would be a hell of a consolation prize. If Mike Brey and staff can go from one elite kid to another, that says a lot about them. I'll eat my crow if this happens.

I didn’t want to say it but ya it is addition by subtraction. This freshman class could possibly win the most ever at ND. It’s possibly that good.

And honestly I really hope you do have to eat your own crow. I can see us getting Tre. Stewart is keeping his recruitment very close to the vest. I don’t think any of the analysts even know where he is going they just assume he is going to choose duke. But I think he could surprise us all and choose ND. Those 2 would be an amazing haul

I’m skeptical that Stewart will choose ND. However, Irish analysts keep making a big deal how Brey has gotten his top target in each of the last 5 years. That gives me hope. But it’s different when you are chasing a top 10 recruit.

I agree it is different but he has said multiple times that he is really interested in ND and I’m pretty sure he recently said that ND is his dream school. I know that means nothing but I know brey is pushing so hard for Stewart.

Sooo did anyone else do Tom noie’s chat today? Well if you didn’t he said “I would be surprised if ND didn’t get Stewart”

Now I know he isn’t hugely into recruiting but how do we not take that as a good sign

Don't do this to me. I've already made peace with the fact that we'll never get a kid like that unless he literally grew up in the South Bend area don't make me believe again

I know I know I never thought it could happen either so I’m trying to keep calm about this so I don’t get upset if we don’t but I’m starting to get a little excited not gonna lie

Who was the last kid that listed a Top 12 that ended up at ND? Just kind of ridiculous to me - expect our bid of $0 to fall short and we miss the next cut. At the same time - seeing us in the mix at all is a good PR thing.

ND never offered or recruited him. He's raw and skinny as hell but he has got vast potential. I bet he ends up at Stanford.

I can't think of a kid that listed a top 12 that ended up at ND.

Considering he's Greg Anthony's kid, money shouldn't be an issue. They will be seeking the spot where they think Cole can best showcase his skills. Supposedly Greg Anthony thinks very highly of Brey and the ND offense would be an excellent fit.

Obviously the chances are never high in getting a kid that is a likely "one and done" to choose ND. Brey's reputation is probably about as high as it's going to be unless we can make it to a final 4. The only way we get to a final 4 is chasing some higher ranked kids that are less likely to choose ND
