They use these popularity contests to drive user engagement really, the state schools always win because they have a huge alumni base plus Wal-Mart Wolverine fans (Or whatever your favorite regional college is). It's never really about "the best."

Because of the unknowns of the new coaching staff, and the loss of some big time players to graduation, most writers are predicting an average year. We’ll see though.

No way they upgrade the stadium. This coach will not be bringing anything remotely related to post season baseball to South Bend. A beer garden down the right field line will be needed, though. They need to get the townies to show up.

This isn’t CFP or CBB so a one-run loss to Lipscomb at their place is not the end of the world in college baseball. It’s a long season. This team was projected to be average regardless of who the HC was. Swarbrick probably thinks he can put baseball on the back burner since they just made the CWS & lost their HC. If Stiffler isn’t the right guy for the job don’t expect a change anytime soon. ND as an athletic dept has shown they are fine to “Settle for less”

Crazy they even scored 4 runs with that stat...6 walks and 3 errors, Lipscomb did all they could to keep them in it.
