VCU is definitely a program you hear around baseball. He wins which is good and he is still young. I know the recruiting is going to be much different but I would think ND Carrie’s a little bit of weight.

I like this hire. It checks every box you could want as far as I'm concerned. He went to George Mason, so we know he's likely not leaving ND to go there. I think this guy could hang around for a while. Great leader on and off the field.

Watching ND Baseball doesn't age me the way football and men's hoops does. College baseball is also just awesome in general.

He certainly said a lot of the right things. I hope he sticks around for a long time and has success. ND Baseball taking a break from being a stepping stone job would be a welcome change.

I heard Findlay was entering the portal last week but I thought it was just to keep his options open as they looked for a new coach? Is he officially transferring? That would be a major bummer.

Not officially transferring. As you said, filed on the deadline so that he could keep his options open since we hadn't hired a coach yet. He could very well end up transferring, but it is far from certain.

I recall the same about Findlay and didn’t blame him for doing so. The portal is loaded but how many can transfer to ND and afford to pick up the tab that their scholarship doesn’t cover?

I read that he said when the caller id came up with South Bend the hair on the back of his neck stood up. That’s a good sign.

Hated losing Link to FSU, but I like this hire. Link made ND baseball a name the past few years and I think Shawn can keep that same culture and keep ND a name. I like his resume at VCU. Hopefully Findlay sticks around, if so that is a win for the coach.
