Tennessee-Duke has turned into a great game. Very impressed by UT. If they hold on here I won’t be surprised to see them make a run in this tournament
Was a very good game. Barnes is a good coach.

Purdue’s problem was that they were way too reliant on one guy. The other #1 seeds have multiple guys to lean on. FDU minimized Edey, while the other Purdue players disappeared.

Eric Musselman is an awesome coach. Love what he’s done with that Arkansas program. I hope they go all the way.

Crazy tournament. Princeton advances to the Sweet 16 and two #1’s are gone. Houston currently has their hands full.

Looks like Houston will advance. Up by 8 with 5:00 to go. Houston is hitting their FT’s and Auburn is missing theirs.

If I had 33k in disposable income, placing a bet like that would be way down on my list. Good for him.

That is an awful pay out. They were a 15:1 odds to win? That doesn't seem right given the history prior to their game was 150:1, would've expected the pay out to be a lot more than that.

Miami has wanted this game way more than Indiana. Out-hustled would be an understatement.

That program has been dead for years. It's too bad.
Poor choice of words right? Average what... 20 wins per year over the last decade including the Archie cost saver experiment?

Dead should be saved for programs like Georgetown.

Avery Johnson is just the worst. Said you want to avoid the air ball to get an opportunity at on offensive rebound. Hmmm.

I like Woodson, but I'm beginning to wonder if he has it? Miami ran the backdoor and scored so money times I lost count. Jackson-Davis kept going out with his man (who wasn't a threat to shoot) leaving the lane wide open. How does Woodson not adjust to those?

Only two #1's and two #2's left.

Out of everyone left, who matches up best with Alabama that can beat them? Has to be Houston, right? Tennessee beat Bama head to head about a month ago in their only meeting.

That East bracket went off the rails almost completely. Just looks like Alabama has a clear path to the final so we can all hear about how much they have overcome.

Stranger things have already happened. I hope for more upsets.

I thought I was going insane watching that game. It was like there were ZERO adjustments. Jackson-Davis REPEATEDLY leaving the paint area to cover his guy near the 3 point line. Like you said, a ton of points in the paint because he we didn't have a big man down there holding down the paint.

Miami got so many 2nd and 3rd chance shots as well, at times it felt like every possession down the floor. Such a frustrating game to watch as an IU basketball fan. And we just seemed out of sink on O most of the game. Completely outplayed and apparently out-coached.

Big Ten programs to have won championships (I am leaving Maryland out as they were not in the Big Ten when they won their title):

Wisconsin 1941,
Ohio State 1960,
Michigan 1989,
Michigan State 1979, 2000
and Indiana 1940, 1953, 1976, 1981, 1987

The 80s was easily the best decade and that Michigan team was a total fluke.

Interesting breakdown on the conferences:

SEC - 3
Big East - 3
B12 - 2 (including Texas that will be SEC)
ACC - 1
AAC - 1
WCC - 1
IVY - 1
CUSA - 1
BIG TEN - 1
MWC - 1
PAC 12 - 1

I don't remember a tourney this spread out for conference affiliation.

The Big Ten gets a lot of criticism for the lack of results. Even with Indiana under Knight, they've had FIVE programs EVER win championships? I'm trying to understand when they were ever really king of any mountain that the lack of teams advancing in any sort of surprise.

Consumption of the major college sports has become tribal. You're looking at it by conference rather than examining where Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, UCLA, Indiana, Kansas and even UConn are ending up each year. 22 programs have won exactly one title ever in their history. Louisville and Villanova have 3 each.

I see Kentucky, UNC, Duke, Indiana and Kansas all no longer present. The focus seems to be on the Big Ten, though. For me, the blue blood conference in my lifetime has been the ACC and they have one team left?

I may have missed it,... do Big10 fans sell their conference as the cream of CBB?? If so,... woof. It is really hard to win a natty in fairness (take Gonzaga which has been MAYBE the program over the last ten years and no titles,... it's hard, but still).

I too see the ACC as THE conference in my lifetime... the old Big East would have been there too but,.....

I don't think they do, but there is always a lot of talk about how they disappoint in the tournament. Likely relative to my market since Big Ten HQ is 45 minutes down the tollway from me. There is a national narrative to it as well, though. A lot of that is definitely down to bad luck because it is hard, indeed. After Kentucky, you have Florida and Arkansas as the only SEC teams to ever win a title. Ever. Maybe they are not expected to do much, but the Big Ten seems to be for some reason.

When you really look at the big picture, you have a select few programs that are considered greats. From a conference standpoint, realignment has without question had an impact on perception and legacy. There just seems to be a lot of focus now on how an entire conference is doing versus the individual programs. Indiana should have different expectations than Northwestern, obviously. Kentucky, regardless of seed, should be expected to do more than Auburn or Arkansas.

It was frustrating as hell. Omier had 17 rebounds himself. UM out rebounded IU 48-31. I saw about 5 or 6 IU games this year and the only one where the O seemed good was the first win over Purdue. Their second win over Purdue was due to Hood-Schifino getting hot. After jacking up a number of misses early against UM, Knight would have had his butt on the bench for a while. lol

IU’s bench had zero points. Losing X and Geronimo killed this team. Tamar Bates is absolutely garbage and he was a HS 5 star.

Hood-Schafino needs another year. He’s played poorly since the 2nd Purdue game. Reading too many of his own press clippings apparently. I’d like to see his +/- stats since PU because I don’t think it is very good.

The lack of adjustments and giving up an offensive rebound on like every possession was maddening.
