Sprinkled my bets around because the odds are juicy but I'm thinking the Lakers.

I say he takes a few years off to play in the Indians minor league system

I just don't understand why he would want to go west and have to play the Warriors in the WCF instead of the NBA finals.

It seems that the Celtics would be a better option if he wants to win a title.

Kyrie went to Boston to get away from LeBron, doubt he'll go to the celtics. In my totally unbiased view, he's gotta come to philly.

Well this way he either makes it to the finals and wins or does not go at all.... meaning he would have a better finals winning %. East is garbage.

I think location is among his top concerns. Like a lot of big names, they want a big sexy market. I'd say (regardless of team), he loves the thought of CA, NY, and FL, and maybe a little TX. So I'd say ranking his desires, it's 40% money, 30% championship, and 30% location.

I'd love for him to end up a Celtic. Or a Pacer. Neither will happen though.

I think Championship is much higher on the list. He's getting his money no matter what, he wants a young but established group he can compete with.

Maybe, but IMO his bank and environment are as much or more important. He would have never went back to Cleveland IMO if that was so important. If you're the king, you want it all. Championship, money, and a great place to live. Miami gave him all three. If he's leaving home, I'd bet you he'd prefer to be in NY or CA if all other things (money, team talent) were equal, instead of a place like Boston with young, up and coming talent.

He's staying in the East point blank. No team in the West is able to compete with warriors/rockets with or without lebron.

This is the point, all things aren't equal. Do you think he'll sacrifice his legacy to have a "cool place to live"?

I don't think he goes to Boston. I think he has to find another up and coming team in the East but we'll know in the next couple weeks. Once that first domino falls, we'll also know where Leonard and George are going.

Maybe the Lakers find a way to execute more roster turnover. It's hard to imagine how different the NBA landscape will look in a few weeks.

Celtics and Philly should be much better next year. Celts with a healthy Kyrie and Hayward would have taken the Cavs this year easily.

I know he'd never go to this place, but if he wanted to really challenge for titles right now he should really think of a way to pair up with Anthony Davis in my opinion. Even if that means he has to play for the pelicans. I think those two together could challenge golden state if they could put shooters and defenders around those two. Honestly I'm shocked that Anthony Davis isnt more talked about in the NBA. Guys is unreal and arguably a top 2 and no less than top 3 guy. Put lebron with that, and I think they could honestly beat golden state and Houston in a best of 7 series.

Ha ha, no way. It sounds cool and those two together would probably average 70/night but the rest of that team couldn't support a championship run. Maybe if they hit the luxury tax +++

As to the bolded, why do you think he isn't talked about more? it's because he plays for the Pelicans. He needs to GTFO after his initial contract expires.

I think he was willing to put his legacy at risk going back to Cleveland. I think he did that for loyalty, and he feels he checked the box. I think he's going to be more about happiness and $ now.

It's going to be hard for up and coming young teams to take him. If they do, they will have to sacrifice the long term. LA has the most "practical" cap space but would have to make some moves. The Sixers and Rockets could make it happen too.

While he had an awesome season, I think teams realize he's got a shelf life. Any team that is willing to grab him has probably a 3-4 year play. That's probably how many years the GSW have to keep their nucleus together. I don't think James will be unselfish like Durant, but we'll see. If he's unselfish, I think it will be a big market sexy city. If he goes to small market team and is unselfish, then I'd say you're right (it's more about championships and legacy). I just don't see that happening. If that were the case, he'd stay in Cleveland, take less, and let them bring in another all star.

True, but then if I were lebron I'm on the phone with Davis convincing the guy to come play with me after This year, or even get it in the head of the pelicans organization that he's moving so they are willing to trade him for something than lose him for nothing.

Also he should go to an organization that is willing to get Davis on the team in a year. Whatever team that is, you make it work. I dont think any pair or combination that is being talked about right now will win him a championship. Being with Davis gives him his best opportunity though imo.

NO is better at every position than Cleveland, except the obvious:

Playoff Rondo over Hill (not even close)
Holiday over Smith (not even close)
Lebron over Mirotic (not even close)
Davis over Love (not even close)
Boogie over Thompson (not even close)

The Pelicans would absolutely compete with and possibly beat GS with Lebron and their current roster. I would put my money on NO. Cap issues wouldnt allow them to keep that current roster intact with the addition of Lebron, but damn, what a pretty lineup to think about: Axe murderers at every starting position (Holiday is probably more knife assailant status), and fire buckets from Miro coming from the bench.

Davis just was in his first playoffs of his career right? I believe it was also the first season of his career he wasn't injured. There's two reason alone he isn't talked about more.

Ha ha, I disagree. Hopefully we get to see this because I'll put my money on GS all day against that NO squad.

I'd also bet on NO in that case. I think they'd win in 6.

AD is an insane talent and I'd take him over anyone other than Durant.

As Domer said, the dude is made of glass. There will always be that. Check this out if you want a laugh:

He averages 68 games a season. When healthy, he is top 3-5 though, no question.

As if this matters.

Making it to the finals is better than losing in the conference finals or worse.

I guarantee if you asked LeBron if he'd rather lose in the WCF and preserve his finals winning % or continue his finals appearance streak he'd take the streak 10/10.

I heard on the radio (Clay Travis?) that it will be about the money for James. TIFWIW.

Also hearing there is a good chance PG13 returns to the Thunder. If that happens the Lakers probably aren't an option for James.

If PG goes back to OKC, they will have the highest payroll in NBA history, and be set to pay $120 million on the luxury tax. Melo screwed the ever loving shit of them by opting in.

*Clay Travis hates Lebron more than most people do, so I wouldnt take much of his reports on the matter too seriously.

But Melo is only on the books for 1 more year, so they can give PG13 the promise of after that, they'll make some serious moves.

And I heard this AM that PG13 would be leaving ~$30 million guaranteed over 5 years by leaving OKC.

To a guy who has a metal rod in his leg and suffered a serious injury like that, that's some Grade-A security.
