IMO he just doesn't have the physical tools to take a game over. Yes he can shoot the lights out but his driving ability isn't effective when he can't go strong to the basket. Same way for James when his jumper is off.

Barnes is the X-Factor. He has been great this series, and the Cavs know they need to account for him now. The Splash Bros are starting to get looks that weren't there earlier.
