Sanctions, LOL.

I mean we all said this was coming. Easiest neg recruiting out there... and ND gets neg recruited on made up stuff all the time...

Mike Frank said he doesn't even consider him a commit on Power Hour. But we also apparently don't care, because we like our OL prospects that much.

Not concerned, just hope that it happens soon. If LSU is such a great place then he should probably attend college there and stop wasting peoples time. From an OL recruiting standpoint this is not a need. We'll RS (most likely) two better OL than him this year and there are potentially 2 better than him in the 16' cycle with ND as the leader or darn close. I sincerely hope we don't spend too much time here, its better used other places.

I was just getting ready to type the same thing but its nice to have a potential blue chip LT type in every class... because that's where ND gets it's RT and G's from. If Ronnie Stanley stays though his eligibility... 2 out of how many (?) high school all american LT types that ND has recruited in a 7 year period will have ever played the position.

The world will go on without Jerry Tillery if it comes to that but he's an ND kinda guy regardless. Quality kid either way...

BUT

Dr. Tillery from ND will be a much better commodity than Dr. Tillery from LSU in 2035.

Trust me Jerry.

I'm not going to pretend that losing Tillery isn't a big deal. He's an elite talent/frame and although OL aren't really transfer/eligibility risks in the past, you never know with injuries.

Can never have too many 6'6", 300+Lbs OL.

Money quote from the article:
“I would say the two of them are hitting Jerry the hardest and are doing a great job of recruiting Jerry. I look at recruiting as bombarding a kid and I think they have bombarded Jerry and stayed visible and stayed on him the whole time.”

Says all you need to know about trying to pull anyone out of Louisiana and why it's tough.

when i hear things like the staff doesn't seem concerned if we lose him. That to me equates to we aren't fighting to keep him. Which if true, is a damn shame.

I'm not pretending. We brought in two potential tackles last year in Nelson and Bars both of which are better prospects. So provided that those guys RS he'll have to beat one of them out (which I don't see happening) or he'll start at most 1 season at RT or LT.

- Also, and I needed to double check this first. Both Kraemer (98.71) and Eichenberg (95.85) who we have very legitimate chances with are higher rated in the 247 composite. Tillery (93.54)

Is this different from Schurburt:

Said he'll take visits because why not? He won't get to be a fan at a college football game much longer. Also says he's not sure when if he'll get to South Bend for a game because he has practice on Satudays....but will visit other schools on Saturdays to be a fan on gameday. Said he'll probably official to ND for the banquet. Is still committed to Notre Dame "for sure."

Honestly, huge kick in the nuts if he doesn't come to ND for Michigan game but it makes it to LSU vs. Bama.

His coach told Sonny Ship at 247 that he's open to Texas, LSU, and "I know he likes Stanford". He anticipates Jerry taking several OV's.

I wish all the JT apologists out there would open their eyes and read the writing on the wall. When all is said and done, this will be one of the better ND troll jobs in recent history - even better than Blake the Flake. The kid is not signing here. Solid commits don't do/say the things he does/says. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

Thought he was locked in for UM? Dafuq?

Whatever. Jerry, we'd love to have you. But go with your heart.

I don't see him making that OV and not being Irish. Eithier A) He makes the OV and enrolls at ND soon after or B) He never makes the OV.

Exactly but I still think he makes the visit and it seals the deal. He has always been honest and said he wants to take visits. Everytime he visits ND it renews the reason he committed in the first place.

I don't think anybody can top Blake.

He's not locked in for anything other than LSU-related events.

I will defend him on this and say that it is easier for him to schedule LSU-related events being that he's right there.

I believe him OV'ing is the tell. Its the do or die scenario. But if the staff has backed off, or that it appears they have backed off, I can see where the problem is.

Would be great if he comes but remember he is essentially behind McGlinchney, Bars and Nelson with three and four years left starting in 2015. Looks like we could land Eichenberg and Kreamer for 16' so OT is not a real dire need. He most likely will not beat out Nelson or Bars with them being a year ahead of him. LSU might have a quicker path to playing time as well.

Seems like a great kid but not going to hand wring about it with all the talent we have.

If this guy was committed to an SEC school and like most SEC commits they visit every school and it's not a big deal. It's usually the norm. They commit to ND and take visits to LSU "He gone". This is how recruiting goes in the SEC. Obiviosuly he is still committed to ND, he always said he is gonna visit Texas and LSU. Said he is committed to ND and will visit for the Banquet. Obviously things could look better on our end but this is how it goes down in the SEC.

How many times do we need to seal the deal tho? Wasn't II supposed to seal the deal, too?

He originally stated that he wanted to come to ND for the educational opportunity and the spirit and atmosphere at the school. I think he used the adjective "sublime."

This is another thing where we get to sit around and watch the eggs crack. Someone answer me : what difference does what this seventeen year old kid do, make in your life?

If he is all that he was, truly genuine, he will be here. Didn't say the decision would be easy. But if he isn't, oh well.

Yeah, a solid commit would never say something ridiculous like "I'm committed to ND for sure."

Or that's he's interested in LSU, Texas, Stanford.. Or not sure up an OV to the school he's solidly committed to, yet sure up a visit to LSU. But go ahead and keep your head buried in the sand.
