Golden State Warriors open as strong favorite in Las Vegas

The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook installed Golden State as a -260 favorite, with Cleveland at +220.

A $100 bet on the Warriors would win $38.46; the same bet on the Cavaliers would win $220.

I think the Warriors will win, but that's a great bet on the Cavs.

Yeah my friend is in Vegas right now... texted him this morning asking him to place a bet for me.

+220 reflects an implied probability of 31.25%.

I personally put the Cavs chances of winning around 25%, so to me, it is a bad bet. It would have to be +300.

so....

the Finals start NEXT week, so both teams will get a FULL WEEK off, and if it goes 7 games, it runs thru june 18 with 2 full days between all games?

great scheduling Silver.

alarm set for 5 minutes left in 4Q in all these games.

In the finals,

Draymond is averaging 11 points, 4 assists, 9 rebounds.
Love is averaging 18 points, 1 assist, and 12 rebounds.

Curry is averaging 25 points, and is a liability on defense.
Irving is averaging 30 points, and is a liability on defense.

Klay is averaging 17 points per game.

Am I missing the "Lebron has no chance" memo? Step up if you're the GOAT. Make it a series.

Anyone think Cleveland has a chance tonight?

Cleveland is actually outscoring Golden State when LeBron is on the floor. I think he plays something like 46 minutes and they squeak one out.

So you think it's 3-2 going back to Cleveland.

Do you have the Cavs winning the series then?

No, I think Cleveland exhausts all of their gas tonight. I don't give them much of a shot in Game 6 unless something crazy happens like Draymond punches a lady or something.

If they win tonight, I have them winning in game 6. And in game 7 I have no idea what to expect. If it gets to 7, I think GW would crap their pants.

I don't have them winning tonight, though. I think GW goes hard tonight and actually plays defense.

Im a huge Bron homer. I give them a ~25% chance of winning. If they win...i think they win game 6. Lmao can you imagine the Jordan bishes if King James makes them bear witness to 4 wins in a row? (*DISCLAIMER: I AM AWARE THAT WON'T HAPPEN)

The difference in the series IMO is that Thompson and Korver have both played terrible. Game 4 was the first game Thompson played good. He was an absolute no show in Game 1 and Game 2. As for Korver. . . It's fine if he's a liability on defense, but he can't be a no show on offense as well.

Also I'll say just looking offensive stats doesn't come close to telling the whole story. Lebron has to carry the team offensively when Kyrie isn't on a hot streak, and has to guard Durant on the other end. Durant doesn't have to guard Lebron. Klay is only averaging 17 points, but he's one of the premier defensive guards in the NBA. This series should be a bloodbath. GSW is just LOADED.

I don't give Cleveland much of a chance tonight. I think they get beat pretty good. 10-15 points. However, if they do somehow win, I think it goes to seven.

True.

Korver is not bad on defense. The broadcasters keep saying this, too.

Overall, Lebron's two best players (Love/Irving) are outplaying Durant's best players (Curry/Draymond).

Klay is great defensively. But so is Iman Shumpert. And JR and Korver combined can score just as well as Klay when hot. Klay has no-shows on offense as well.

I'm just tired of everyone acting/talking like this series is impossible for Lebron. He's getting as much or more from the combination of Love/Irving, that Durant is from Curry/Draymond. And it's not like Klay is killing anyone with his 17 ppg.

I thought LeBron stopped guarding Durant after he was lighting him up in the first quarter of game 1.

It took Cleveland to score 49 points in one quarter in game 4 to still be alive. There's a reason this is impossible for cleveland. They just can't keep that pace up.

And what I'm saying is that Lebron is the first ever player to average 30+/10+/10+ through the first 4 games of a Finals, and he's doing it on 54% shooting at the age of 32 against a team with 2 MVPs, a DPOY, a Finals MVP, and Klay Thompson.

So I think saying that this is an even series or implying Lebron needs to "step up" more is a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit crazy.

What you say is true.

It's also fair to say the combo of Irving and Love are outperforming Curry and Draymond. And Klay hasn't been providing a ton of offense. The talent difference isn't that different on paper in this series.

Some say he's the greatest player of all time (I don't). If that were true, this is not insurmountable. Hell, Kwahi was curb stomping the Warriors by 23 in Golden State when he got taken out.

It's over tonight. Cleveland shot their wad in G4 trying to save face. If the NBA didn't schedule a month between games it would have been over sooner, because James would have been out of gas.

Officiating definitely not supposed to help the Cavs...first they take away a technical foul from the dirtiest player in the game (something I've never seen before) and now this...it's amazing but whatever.

CLE needs to buckle down and not let GS have their 5 minute flash flood in the second half or this ends tonight. Lot of game left if the Cavs can keep that flurry at bay.

*Curry has become as unlikable, if not more unlikable than Lebron this season. He's a turd. And if Kyrie could guard a wet paper bag he'd easily be my favorite player in this series.

I've hated him for years. Low energy guy. Always has been. His daughter sucks too. Dislike her more than her dad.

Kyle Korver, Shumpert, Love all playing like ass. Shumpert is a saloon door on defense.

That's been their Achilles all year. LBJ and TT are the only defenders they have that log heavy minutes. Not gonna bode well against the sharp shooters.

Curry alone has taken more FTs than the entire Cavs team...I read before the game that it would be fixed for the Cavs, not sure what channel that game is on.

Lol this Pachulia guy. What a dork.

There was a time when he complemented your roster as a hard-nosed double double guy. Now he's a hammer throwing dirtbag. Been that way his whole time with GS.

Him and West play the role of "heavy" because the Dubs were criticized for being too soft before this season.

Am I crazy for having a feeling that Golden State is going to tighten up and lose this?
