Probably the worst place to be drafted, Celtics have a stocked roster and 8 draft picks. He may play on a developmental team. Would have been better if he could have been drafted by the Bulls with them shipping out two point guards

I disagree. He's going to a team with Brad Stevens as the coach. I believe he is slowly molding the roster to match his philosophy. It's been impressive watching him from Butler to the NBA. I think Jackson could serve a similar role to Butler's Shelvin Mack during one of Steven's runs.

He was the 6th pick drafted out of 8, it doesn't seem like he was wanted, more drafted as the best player available. A lot has to happen for him to have a chance to play after being drafted by Boston imo

I agree. He got drafted purely because he was the best available. Ainge is just stockpiling assets to be ready if a mega trade ever pops up where they can make a push to be on Cleveland's level. If not, they'll just keep slowly building for when Lebron finally slows down.

They wouldn't hesitate to trade any of their point guards if it got them a true star, but right now DJ is clearly the 4th PG on the roster.

The reason why the NBA is the least interesting sports league of the big four is because it's completely noncompetitive. Free agency is 100% broken. No other league has such talent imbalance issues. European Soccer is the closest comp in terms of imbalance, but they fix that by having regular season == championship with "cups" to keep things interesting.

There's no point in even have a regular season next year... just skip to a four team playoff between Golden State, Cleveland, San Antonio, and Boston.

Even before free agency really took over the NBA was like that. In the "golden era" of the 80's you basically had four or five teams as well. L.A. in the west and Boston, Philly, Detroit (later) in the East.

It may make it a less interesting regular season but the playoffs are usually very good.

Kevin Durant has been an enormously likable star the past decade or so.

Going to Golden State makes him 10x worse than what Bron did. Hope he's ready to embrace the villain thing.... Because this makes him a sellout.

Btw, I give them 62 regular season wins. Too many ballers, and only one ball to share.

I actually think it's not as bad as what Lebron did. He didn't go on TV and do some stupid announcement. OKC wasn't his "hometown" team either. Heck, he was drafted by an organization that sold out Seattle.

I do agree that they probably won't approach 73 wins again. It's just not worth it in the NBA to chase after regular season records. I'm sure Kerr will use the season to tinker with lineups and keep everyone's minutes manageable. It's title or bust for them. Will be interesting.

I'm interested in seeing what Westbrook does this year. I look for him to lead the league in scoring.

Not nearly as bad as what LeBron did, in terms of optics. Much worse in terms of "sellout" cuz he went to the team he couldn't put away wit ha 3-1 series lead.

I also wouldn't be surprised if KD is there for only two years and then moves on (possibly back to OKC).

It's nowhere near as bad as Lebron's "decision", solely based on the public backlash of it. Not only was "The Decision" one of the most pompous and socially backwards moments in sports history, and a giant slap in the face to his hometown fans in Cleveland, but that introduction rally for the big three in Miami has to go down as one of the overly cocky and corniest moments of all time.

Remember "not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven" - Was he counting how many steps he gets away with before traveling is called?

Way more pathetic than Lebron's move. Lebron had no one here when he left, his second option was Mo Williams. Durrant was just up 3-1 in the conference finals. Not only did he leave a really good team, he went to the team that he knew he wouldn't be able to beat.

To top it all off KD has been critical of super teams in the past. So not only is he a pussy, he's also a hypocrite.
