TTown what are your thoughts on Bama QB recruiting for 2015? Do you agree with Barton that you may pass on a QB in hopes of getting Jacob Eason in 2016?

Right on cue J.Hopkins is making his pitch for Oregon recruiting Barnett. He is there #1 QB recruit ahead of Murray and they want him THAT bad. Oregon wouldn't recruit a player committed elsewhere unless there was a realistic shot. Oregon will make some other offers but expect them to continue to court Barnett. Expect them to try and get him on campus.

Here's a gem from Urban Meyer. OSU is the favorite according to Waller with Oregon and USC round out his top 3. OSU told Travis that he's their #1 guy at QB. Yet they haven't offered and just accepted a commitment from Joe Burrow, another 2015 QB.

Waller feels like a last resort to Oregon (priority behind Murray) yet has no problem with OSU still not offering (priority behind Gibson). Amazing. Would love to know how Urban spinned that.

Bama wants Waller but I don't think they get him. Q. Dormandy may be another option as his name has been mentioned briefly. If they miss on either of these two I would agree with Barton that we pass this season. Eason will be a lot of teams target at QB next season and I think we will be in the mix.

USC, Oregon and Ohio State top three? Don't think I've ever seen that combination before.

To me, the fact that he apparently had no qualms about discussing that in an interview speaks volumes. True class act.

Exactly. Just stopping and thinking about that is almost mind blowing. Shows how screwed up things are.

Hahaha an ice cream truck full of gorgeous women. That's amazing.

(I would commit to play football for Kingsbury if I could)

Is that cheating though? If the "school" (see: football coaches) buys out an ice cream truck for two hours and hires people to work in it, and it's only for the benefit of athletes already at the school, is there anything illegal going on? I can see how it would be an issue if it were a ploy while recruits were there.

Just to be clear, I wasn't trying to imply Kingsbury was doing something that was an NCAA violation, just that it seemed a little low class and he wasn't shy about discussing it openly with the media. I'd think it was awesome if I was a player, but I would expect a coach to show a little better judgement.

It is if you tell recruits that you do this all summer and will get paid for 2 hours at $100 an hour. And then have 85 kids working for the 2 hours. Do they have to actually sell Ice Cream?
The problem is, there isn't a way to track these events to see if it is beneficial for recruiting. So it has to be labeled as potentially cheating.

With the commitment of Merrillville (Ind.) Andrean four-star linebacker Josh Barajas, Notre Dame is now sitting at No. 14 nationally with its nine commits in 2015 247

What? They aren't paying kids to work the ice cream truck. They had bottle-service girls working the truck. Which, while maybe distasteful, isn't necessarily cheating if the school is paying for it. And I don't think it was for recruits. They said they brought it in for practice for the players.

Not sure how effective it will be, but it's something new. Coaches seem to be trying everything.
